Sid just said it on his radio show...not good, unless we play as well as we did last night.edit: He called it day to day, and said Engin would return as soon as possible, but at this point, they were pretty confident that he would be out for UVA and WVU.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 8:16 PM. 11/28/2006 8:15:31 PM
damn
11/28/2006 8:16:28 PM
Wow, UVA's guards are gonna run circles around us....Nieman and Fells will NOT be able to guard either of them
11/28/2006 8:17:19 PM
oh well, the more players we have out, the less expectation for us to win
11/28/2006 8:17:52 PM
looks like more zone to be played
11/28/2006 8:21:38 PM

god that fucker must be made of glass.
11/28/2006 8:35:09 PM
You're thinking of T.A.
11/28/2006 10:20:14 PM
It might have helped if Engin hadn't played in European Leagues all summer too, that's got to put a lot more stress on the body, not getting any breaks between seasons.....
11/28/2006 10:23:01 PM
meh on one hand itd be nice to have him. On the other, there is nothing wrong with getting all of these young guys as much playing time as possible.
11/28/2006 10:24:39 PM
Experience for the scrubs is fine, but depth is a serious issue and had we not had a 20 pt lead, our guys getting tired would have cost us the Michigan game. That's not gonna fly against harder ACC teams down the road, but now this is turning into the whole We Need Engin thread all over again.
11/28/2006 10:26:39 PM
They are going to press like michigan did in the last 3 minutes for 40 minutes.
11/28/2006 10:26:47 PM
Play the slow down in the first half, come out blazing in the second half.
11/28/2006 10:32:52 PM
RUN THE PRINCETON!!
11/28/2006 11:30:04 PM
11/28/2006 11:33:11 PM
If true this is great news. Most thought he would be out well over a month.
11/28/2006 11:46:44 PM
We have to get up big on UVA quickly and force their guards to jack up shots. If we play slowly and let them stay in it, they might get the confidence and poise to run good sets and pull it out in the end. We need to get back on defense, too. We only need to be the ones running. I like the fells/grant combo on the break better than Singletary/Reid combo.UVA has a tendency to fold when they are down a lot. That's why they always get blown out by duke or carolina.

I once struck out braxton's older brother out 3 times in one gamein BASEBALL
11/29/2006 3:29:31 AM
^ Thanks for clarifying, otherwise I would of assumed you meant in hockey.
11/29/2006 10:23:36 AM
On a side note, anyone planning on coming to the WVU game? The wife & I (along with a group of NCSU and WVU grads from here in WV) will be going...it's exactly 5 hours from Raleigh, PM me if you're thinking about coming, we need some RED in there, and since it's not in Morgantown, we stand a better chance
11/29/2006 10:31:06 AM
I'm ok with him sitting out longer if necessary. As much as we need him for these couple of games, we're REALLy going to need him once we're in the heat of the ACC season. I don't think anyone expected us to even make the NIT this year, so anything more than 10-12 wins is gravy as far as I'm concerned.
11/29/2006 10:31:20 AM
We'll have to hope neither team is particularly hot from outside...because we should play zone all 40 minutes in both games...or maybe we could play some man in the WVU game...I don't know how strong their guards are.Not too optimistic about the UVA game though.
11/29/2006 10:35:13 AM
first ACC game in uva's new arena, theyll be pumped, doesnt look good but i have hope!
11/29/2006 10:37:44 AM
Yeah, I think we're going to die by the other team's three ball this year, we've never done well defending it so far and our close games previously were against teams that were shooting well from behind the arc.
11/29/2006 10:53:25 AM
11/29/2006 11:03:29 AM
i think we are allowing the 3 ball just b/c trying to defend against it would require a lot more energy. a 7 6 man rotation needs to conserve as much energy as possible which is why we slowed the game so much against michigan in the first 12 min. of the 2nd half.it's all part of lowes strategy and i agree w/ it 100%
11/29/2006 11:28:31 AM
Atsur's D will be missed, but watching him play is like hitting the Slo-Mo button.Step up Nieman, Step up Horner.Grant and Fells will have to learn to guard without Atsur on the floor, so lets get that outta the way before we play UNC. They are both leagues faster than Atsur anyways. Also Fergie will be a much helpful addition come late December.

11/29/2006 2:06:41 PM
Not to mention they actually have a coach now and not some annoying leprechaun.
11/29/2006 2:07:26 PM
yeah, i'm anxious to see what trevor ferguson can do in a few weeks. if he turns out to be a flop then we will struggle quite a bit the rest of the season.
11/29/2006 2:10:39 PM
i dont like our hopes riding in the hands of a kid named trevor ferguson
11/29/2006 2:15:23 PM
neither do i
11/29/2006 2:30:58 PM
11/29/2006 2:33:41 PM
I doyou kids havent seen him play or seen him shoot for that matterkids money from long range and he is a very able point, hes got some game to him. problem is hes not as thick as atsur buttt he is a little taller.he is ready to play I know that much and wont be a dissapointment.
11/29/2006 2:35:17 PM
is he money with reyshauwn terry or demarcus nelson guarding him???? you have no idea so we're all skeptical right now
11/29/2006 2:37:17 PM
it seems we always thrive when expected to losewell in most cases
11/29/2006 2:43:24 PM
travel ferguson needs to learn how to NOT carry the ball
11/29/2006 2:44:50 PM
what do terry and nelson have to do with this? you guys act like the season is a failure if you lose to unc and duke...
11/29/2006 2:45:44 PM
I havent seen Fergie play yet, but I cant help being a bit skeptical as well. All I know is we need SOMEBODY to help us beat a damn press and he is bound to do just that. Someone at Pittsburgh thought he could be their 2nd PG before he transferred and that is a pretty nasty team this year; he may pan out better than we think(theme for basketball this year?), especially with one of the all-time greatest ACC PG's coaching him up.I have one big Q about him: Is he faster than atsur? Not like thats tough to accomplish but that is atsurs blaring weakness....
11/29/2006 3:11:50 PM
I heard he is a fast, athletic shooter, and can also slash and jam a little bit.
11/29/2006 3:17:42 PM
11/29/2006 3:48:08 PM
[quote]what do terry and nelson have to do with this? you guys act like the season is a failure if you lose to unc and duke...All i'm trying to say is that nobody knows yet if he is going to be able to do all these things against some of the best players in the country
11/29/2006 4:29:45 PM
shouldn't fergie be ready to play in the Alabama game (Dec 20) considering the last exam is Dec 19?
11/29/2006 5:04:41 PM
anyone know if the WV will be televised around here. I know gopack.com says FSN-Pittsburgh, but i wonder if that could carry here on our FSN as well. Satellite maybe?
11/30/2006 11:29:10 AM
^ Just come on up to the game, I'll be there Yeah, it'll be on FSN-Pittsburgh here, but dunno about locally...go to tvguide.com & hit up your zip code & check. Our NCSU/UVA game *IS* on FSN-Pittsburgh and FSN South, as I think it's on all DSN networks or something.Satellite (or folks w/ additional FSN channels through cable) should be able to get it.
