I just bought 3 quarts of MT-90 from the advance on Western. It was only $7 a quart. They will most likely order it from Keystone (their performance parts supplier) and get it to you after two days. FYI, the Keystone price is like $12 a quart but they gave their price of $7/quart

i bought my last case of amsoil from the guy danny mentioned - just stop by his house in north raleigh and pick it up - he did charge me ~$2-3 for shipping&handling which was a bit jewish but everyone wants to get paid i guess

^^why? i imagine he's just passing along whatever shipping/handling charges he gets.
^yeah, carolina mustang is a ripoff. my brother blew who knows how much money over there when he had his 67. that was before the internet really made auto parts such a national market though.

there are so many places that specialize in 64-73 mustangs now parts keep getting cheaper, there is an unbelieveable following, need a glovebox catch screw? someone somewhere is making them with the oem ford tooling, you can even get entire concours correct hardware sets for the entire car, when i put the 351 in there, i sold the original worn out 4v 289 with stock 66 block, heads, intake, exhaust for a freakin mint

So how much truth is there about the quality of Amsoil engine oil? I was talking to the guy at the fair about their products and was a bit intrigued. I didn't bite on anything other than the information he provided. I understand that they filter their oil to smaller microns, however, would you really go 25k miles/2 years without an oil change? I currently do 5k mile inverals on both oil and filter. I'd be willing to go up to 10k mile/ 1 year oil changes IF it really wasn't a waste of money and didn't compromise engine reliability.

I currently use either Castrol Syntec or Mobil 1 Synthetic (whatever is cheaper) and Puralator Filters... Worthwhile upgrade to redline/amsoil to prolong oil change intervals or no?

I currently go 10k between changes. Changing oil is a pain in the ass. I use Mobil 1 and the best filter I can grab off the shelf at Advance.

The Amsoil EaO filters (if my memory serves me correctly) are definitely worth the money. If you ever get to look at the filter media, it's crazy thick, and they state that it's good for 25k under normal service conditions. I've personally done 16k on one, and that's about the limit I feel comfortable with. If in doubt, have Blackstone do oil analysis.

If you do a lot of highway miles, then anything under 7k or 8k is a total waste of your time and money.

i run it in the boat for contamination reasons since it sits a lot more than it runs, but for hard driving, i stick to mobil 1 in the truck and wix filters

[Edited on October 26, 2009 at 12:53 PM. Reason : i used to go 25k on mobil 1 in my old truck, with a filter change around 12k]
