Had you actually burned the games, I could see them being worth 50 cents to a buck each for the DVD-R's.

And if you had READ my post, i said it was worth ~175. Which isn't much less than you are asking. It is a pretty rare version of the xbox and does have a pretty damn big drive in it.

If it makes any difference, none of the games were downloaded besides the roms. All games were installed from retail games I either purchased/borrowed/rented.

Hell I sold my Dreamcast back in the day on here with 200+ burnt games.

But that wasn't a selling point, nor did I make any more money from it because I had the games, I just threw them in with the bundle.

To no avail? I beat your registration system, I beat your captcha implementation, and beat your IP range ban attempts. I stopped because I had work to do and you got the point.

It was done to show the insecurity of your network, to make a point of the lax and potentially dangerous terms of service and to warn the site users of the risks they were exposing themselves to, since you (at the time) didn't want to deal with it. So yes, it was ethical. Privacy protection and consumer protection come before the corporate machine. (Plus, frankly it was fun to flex the programming brain a little, it had been dormant for a long time)
