I also heard that Rick Barnes really really really really wants this job.
11/27/2006 8:30:08 AM
We'll throw the house at Cowher. He won't take it... and in my opinion we'll go after Paul Johnson, Gene Chizik, or maybe even Norm. Norm is a little old to be taking over at coach, but he's been a helluva assistant.(Edit: I'll also add Skip Holtz to that list as well. Possibly Kragthorpe)[Edited on November 27, 2006 at 8:36 AM. Chow is like 60-something years old.. which makes me think we won't go after him
11/27/2006 9:41:09 AM
11/27/2006 10:24:55 AM
I'll take BC's head coach Tom O'Brian, he wants out at BCI'll take him that is if we can't get Cowher
11/27/2006 10:30:58 AM
All i got from this thread was "skip holtz."and no.holtz is not leaving ecu now that they're much better than we are.

11/27/2006 10:45:44 AM
The only reason I would want Skip would be to see the uproar from the ECU crowd. My order would be:ChowFisher...DonnanJohnsonafter those four I don't know where I would go.

11/27/2006 11:18:47 AM
Scratch off Chizik....reports saying he's going to Iowa State
11/27/2006 11:47:13 AM
Mike Shula fired by Alabama
11/27/2006 11:50:24 AM
Cold Pizza just reported Cowher is at the top of our list...but I'm still thinking its going to be Paul Johnson.
11/27/2006 12:00:50 PM
Iowa state just pulled in the Western Mich. Guy...
11/27/2006 12:18:40 PM
We just need someone to come in and make discipline the focus... someone like Larry Coker
11/27/2006 12:19:11 PM
Am I the only one that thinks someone like Dirk Koetter, who was fired by ASU, is what we need?He is an offensive mastermind and has put QBs in the NFL.

as i've posted before, my boss is a big nc state donor and this morning i asked him what he thought about the situation. he wanted chuck to stay and thought he would rebound with the young team we had and wasn't wild about paying off 3 years of his contract. he met with one of the top 10 wolfpack club donors and here is what that guy said last week:"you heard it here first, the top 5 wolfpack club donors met and are willing to pay off amato's remaining salary to bring in cowher and he will be here within a month"i'm skeptical, but this is coming from a reliable source who is close friends with amato and fowler. personally, i want shula ...but it looks like there is actually some traction behind the cowher ideas.
11/27/2006 3:45:41 PM
so you are saying well before the end of the nfl season?that doesnt make any sense.
11/27/2006 3:48:00 PM
You people are setting yourself up nicely for a letdown. The chances of us getting Cowher are slim to none... just a hunch.
11/27/2006 3:49:40 PM
JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY THE REST OF HIS SALARY, DOES NOT MEAN HE WILL COME
11/27/2006 3:54:57 PM
^That isn't what I said. One of the top donors said post-meeting, that they were paying Chuck's salary to fire him (before it happened) and that Cowher was going to be here within a month (but I assume within a month after the season). It's only speculation, but it certainly DID come from someone who has the money to be in the know for Wolfpack Athletics and it wasn't from fabalus.[Edited on November 27, 2006 at 3:57 PM. well jesus, i really hope youre right
11/27/2006 4:01:32 PM
I still don't think it will happen, it was just interesting to hear that from my boss because he loves Amato and I've met Chuck and his family in his box in the Towers...he doesn't think Cowher will come though and wants either Shula or Johnson.
11/27/2006 4:03:37 PM
^^^LOL this is off subject but look up fabalus' rare but always anticipated posts...MAN do people get fired up afterwards
11/27/2006 4:15:25 PM
Why on earth would anyone want LSU's OC as a head coach? They have had a terrible offense forever and I wouldn't even want him as an OC.
