I remember several months ago seeing a vehicle with this tag line on its rear window "Got ugly headlights?" They specialize in cleaning your vehicles headlights. Has anyone ever used this service to know how much they charge? Thanks

shit happened on my 89 dodge spiritif you take some very fine rubbing compound and go over the lights, most of it will come off

I think they clean the inside of the lamps, so it entails taking the lens cover off. I have replaced my bulbs but Ive never taken the lens out. I dont know how hard it is.....no i dont have a jetta.

You can clean the outside with Mother's aluminum polish.

Is it hard to take headlights off a car?

just buy new lights on ebay...after i took out a deer with my mustang, i bought a set of lights for ~$25...brand new and crystal-cleari suppose it depends on how common your car is, though

most vehicles its not that hard, advance auto has a kit that works perfectly, it comes in a shiny grey bag (looks like aluminum foil). even some "experts" use this kit. before giving your arm or leg try this kit, it worked for me.

cool, thanks for the help.....fourty8ashes, how much is this kit at advance auto? Also, before I go to all this trouble.....will cleaning the interior of the headlights improve visibility or is this mostly for looks only?

Some headlights are one piece and you can not remove the bulb.

i believe it is either 19.99 or 29.99, they got it in just as i quit, but it doesn't require taking apart the headlight, i will check and make sure and let you know tom.
