ok, let me get this straight... ECU fans tore down the goalpost at CF??? or does their stadium just look a LOT like CF
11/23/2006 11:35:30 PM
beating us is pretty much their superbowl.....and yes, they didand they tore them down again when we let them use our stadium in 97ish and they beat miami
11/23/2006 11:40:45 PM
wow...I have never heard of something like that... how was there not a riot?
11/23/2006 11:41:47 PM
there was....we didnt play each other again for awhile until the state legislature (ecu grads in the state legislature) got mad because we wouldn't play them and they forced us to play them
11/23/2006 11:42:49 PM
but I mean, how was there not a riot before/while they were getting them down? basically how were they able to do it? everyone just looking on in shock?
11/23/2006 11:43:50 PM
Basically, because at that time (1987) NC State was 100 times more civil and nobody thought anyone could be so audacious and trashy. That's why.

i was 3 when it happened, so im not an expert, but here is alittle bit more info...
11/23/2006 11:54:16 PM
^^^ still, I mean, they had to be outnumbered 5 to 1 at least... I have to admit, that was ballsy (and yes trashy) by ECU^ good stuff[Edited on November 23, 2006 at 11:56 PM. Reason : d]
11/23/2006 11:55:01 PM
well you have to remember that not many pack fans wanted to get too close to ecu fans for fear of becoming infected with something
11/23/2006 11:55:59 PM
State fans were a lot classer back then. As for the whole ECU / Miami think it did not bother me that much when they tore the post down. I doubt it will happen at this game!
11/24/2006 12:04:37 AM
after that happened state students started lining up after games they were losing to protect their turf and take some swings if they had to
11/24/2006 12:25:58 AM
you probably just saw this on wral news... it was on there 4 minutes before your thread... and they showed the riot and many fights
11/24/2006 12:44:57 AM
yeah, thats where I saw it, but I was just suprised that they actually got them down. I figured a few would try, and then get their asses kicked
11/24/2006 12:47:40 AM
Oh god they're going to take our goalposts again this year.
11/24/2006 12:50:37 AM
no they wont. chuck cant get us a winning team but he can get us collapsable goalpostsgg chuck
11/24/2006 12:52:58 AM
well considering students get beaten out of hell by the police now to try to get on the field i doubt they would

i hate those copsno one is going to tear the golaposts downwe suck
11/24/2006 5:44:54 PM
hah. I wanna see some ECU tards rush the field tomorrow. I don't think they'd even make it over the walls.
11/24/2006 5:51:19 PM
^That is about all that will be worth cheering about tomorrow!
11/24/2006 10:16:07 PM
should be a fun tailgating time and game i think. lots of people from state and ecu having fun together...could get rowdy.
11/24/2006 11:04:26 PM
yeah...."we suck!""no!, WE suck!""NO NO, WEEEEe suck"
11/24/2006 11:06:39 PM
the "riot" back then was not even between state/ecu students .. just random rednecks who were drunk and wanted to brawl
11/24/2006 11:29:48 PM
here's to random rednecks getting drunk and brawling tomorrow. We've gotta make something of the pile of shit that was the 2006 NC State Football Season.

My dad was at this game. There were quite a few fights on the hill. Apparently some of them ended up going as far as the bottom of the hill and causing some real trouble during the game.
