i been noticing all kinds of inconsistencies with the story though. Its like they forgot things that happened from the episode previous and the whole intro doesn't match what has actually happened in the story. Its still pretty bad ass though!

I use to rent this shit from Blockbuster every week when I was a kid. I even remember owning a Voltron action figure that you could seperate into the five different lions. But I got finished watching this morning's episode just now, and it's a lot cornier/cheesier than I remember. I also don't remember the animation being nearly as bleh. But I guess being nearly 23 instead of 8 will do that to you.

I used to love that show as a kid. The formula for every show was:1) The witch and that fruity evil king would put a monster in a coffin and send it on a Godzilla mission to destroy I forget what2) The Voltron characters all try to attack the giant monster with 5 individual lions, even though that strategy has never, ever worked.3) They eventually figure out that they can't beat the monster as 5 separate lions so they form Voltron4) The tide of the battle shifts in favor of Voltron5) The tide of the battle shifts to the monster again for whatever reason6) Voltron decides to end it once and for all by creating the sword out of thin air and slicing the monster down the middleEven as a kid I wondered why those guys didn't just cut to the chase and just have pre-formed Voltron (or a Voltron that didn't separate into lions in the first place) come out with sword in hand and just kill the monster outright in 5 seconds flat. Why would they have Voltron separate into 5 lions anyway. Especially when you consider that half of the episodes centered around the bad guys incapacitating one of the lions or one of the drivers of the lions to prevent Voltron's formation.I've put a lot of thought into this

I'll put some more thought into it for you. If they're going to form Voltron right then and there, it takes about a minute or so to go through the entire transformation/assembly sequence. Why don't the monsters just cut them down right then and there? Why not kill them all as their legs are folding up and the black lion is plugging its appendages into the other lions' assholes?

theres always something ridiculous on at 5:30am on adult swim...chuck norris cartoon so far has been the best thing ive seen, i remember seeing back in spring

^^It's obvious. The monsters are all newborns, so they have never seen anything like a Voltron transformation before. The answer is because they are just standing there agape at the wondrous beauty that is the transformation process. The monsters are stunned by the sheer spectacle. They only come to when Voltron starts the fight up again.[Edited on December 1, 2006 at 7:40 AM. Reason : ^]

I think the Power Rangers also had a super sword attack that they'd use every time

You know, I don't remember the kid (the one who pilots the green lion) having such an annoying voice. Every time I here him speak now I want to choke the ever living hell out of him.
