Seemed like he was starting to turn the corner in SC, and was maybe a year or two away from some tangible success, but here goes the rumor mill churning again......Spurrier to Miami to coach canes? Discuss....

i always that it was Mark Richt's job if he wanted it. Then choice 1(b) would be Schiano[Edited on November 19, 2006 at 10:41 AM. Reason : f]

Richt will never go to Miami.....maybe from the FSU coordinator spot, but not from a head coaching job at georgia.UGA has 10 times the $$$ than the Miami athletic dept. Huge support, and that man is a god in athens. Never gonna happen.Schiano is a possibility, and supposidly there are rumors on Miami sites, Gator boards, etc. that after the Clemson game, the visor is packing his shit for south beach!

Can't see Spurrier going to Miami from South Carolina. Why?It seems to me like Miami is on its way to a permanent decline of sorts. The problems with the program and the money in the athletics program in general are well known.

Wow. Florida is pretty much Miami's most hated rival. Although when Spurrier was coach, they didnt play at all I believe. Spurrier could be very successful at Miami.

I'd be curious if the Miami guys in the NFL donate big sums back to the U for situations just like this. You can't tell me the Ray Lewis's, Shockey's, Andre Johnson's, Portis, Edge's, Wayne's, couldn't circle the wagons and come up with 2.5 a year, the going rate for a top ten coach.

^have you all not seen denials enough times to know that they mean nothinghe may or may not take the job, but that statement by him is meaninglessRememember Roy Boy, "I don't give a shit about UNC" just weeks/days before taking the Heels job

well to Roy's credit, he said "I could give a shit about UNC right now" just moments after losing a heartbreaker in the National Championship game.

this thread is dumb. Spurrier wouldnt go there. Florida isnt Miami's top rival. Richt wouldnt leave a more prestigous program like Georgia for Miami (at the VERY least they are tied, but with a MUCH long history, better fans, much better college atmosphere, much better stadium etc. I have Georgia above Miami).
