I think there's enough people who haven't seen it that it would do decent in any sort of release. The average moviegoer, no matter the theater, doesnt import DVDs from Japan (as was the case for many years before bittorrent).

i actually didn't realize that b/c I've had it myself for about 4 yearrs now and haven't heard about it being released here. This is how I found out about it in the first place, and they talked like it wasn'nt going to be released here: http://www.retrocrush.com/archive2/br/

The Butterfly Effect 2: Because the great classic needed a sequel
Captain America: Why bother when the movie already exists? You really can't improve on perfection. Seriously though, I can only assume that they are purposely trying to run the comic book translation genre into the ground at this point.
Fahrenheit 9/11.5: Someone should spare us and just tell Michael Moore that Bush is in his last term and therefore can't be reelected.
Hellboy 2: Wow. Just wow.
Indiana Jones 4: A George Lucas film and it even is rumored to have Natalie Portman. We already know this is going to suck.
Halo, Max Payne, Rainbow 6, Castlevania: So the video game genre is starting to come into it's heyday. They should do a Wing Commander 2.
National Treasure 2: Yet another treasure of immense wealth hidden by the nation's forefathers. The first hidey hole wasn't quite big enough to hold all the stuff.
Notorious D.A.D.: Sounds like a Robin Williams or Steve Martin movie. That isn't a compliment BTW.
Pac Man: Pac Man?
Star Trek: The Beginning: Wow. A sci-fi sequel for a dying movie franchise. I hope it is based on Enterprise. At least that way we know it will be good.
The Three Stooges: I'd much rather them just show some old three stooges episodes.
Transformers: Had hopes, saw Megatron.
The Book of Mormon Movie, Volume II: Zarahelma: To do it right you'd have to have a LOTR budget. From the look of the first these guys had a "donate your bedsheets so we can make costumes" budget.
Enders Game: Haha.
Fantastic Four 2: Nooooooooooooooooooo!
Fraggle Rock: The Movie: It's so old and out of the spotlight I'm not sure what kind of draw it would get.
Iron Man: Well if they can get Nicolas Cage to get Ghost Rider maybe Downey can pull off Iron Man
Rush Hour 3: The window of opportunity for this movie has long since closed.

I'm not seeing any reason to go to the theater ever again. I'm so jaded at this point.
