We are not traditionally a football school and I remember the days where we had one or 2 good players on the field and everybody else was complete shit. Chuck has given us hope and made us a football school.

History Lesson:We once beat fsu with one man.

That was what ncstate football was about before the chuck character took over.

I watched alot of the games this year and have seen a team effort (instead of just one star being our team) and I think that is what Chuck has brought in. Team talent. Team speed. Something only good programs have. We have alot of young talent and Chuck has put our school on the nfl map with recent drafts from his recruiting. NFL drafts are a great barometer for where a program is headed. We have alot of really good players but you cannot name our best player. That is team talent.

Guys fly around on defense with stunning speed and seem to be pretty good overall. We pound the ball with a bunch of really young good running backs and have established a smash mouth style of football as our reputation instead of our old school air it out.

I understand we aren't too hot right now but we are also NC State. A basketball school and should be much worse than we are right now playing against top teams every week in the new football ACC. I think Chuck is our guy and will eventually bring everything around with the young talent we have on this team.

I feel like many coaches aren't given enough time before being fired in today's world. People need to be patient and understand that Programs aren't built overnight.

There was a time in coach K's early days where he was not doing hot and the pressure was on for him to maybe be fired. The AD stuck with him a few more years and I don't need to tell you the rest.

I've been reading and I think many of you don't understand the situation because you haven't been around here long enough. We were nothing before Chuck to sum it up and now we are competitive. Woody Danztler ran for like 400 yards on us.

It's hard to appreciate Chuck if you weren't here to experience the turnaround in a matter of few years when Rivers was here. NC State football is on the map solely because of Chuck.

Conclusion: If we fire Chuck for mediocrity I think we will return to being NC State traditional football. Chuck is truly unique and was a key part of FSU's Eliteness. Stats show that FSU's dominance would not have existed without Chuck because they dropped off a bit and we picked up a bit as soon as he came here. The guy knows the formula for greatness.

Give him a year or two for his talent to grow up and things will get better. Things can only get better from here. Don't be the one to fire coach K.

Chuck has had his chance and did nothing with it.

Defense doesnt win championships in college, offense does.

Philip is gone, so is his power to win games for Chuck...

and heres what you dont get either some of the older players dont even like Chuck anymore

get him out of here and this is a gay thread, i surely didnt read all of that.

I think not.

Id like to see what would happen if we got another OC first and see what that changes myself, if that doesnt fix things then the axe may be the best answer.

ANOTHER FUCKING OC AND COACHING CHANGE[b]

are you kidding me

these QB's have to learn anotherrrrrr system, get to know ANOTHER coach and work on ANOTHER year...thats letting Chuck off the hook

every year its ahhh the OC sucks, the OC sucks

Mazzone sure did turn the Jets around, Trestman did fine in the NFL

ever think it was a head coaching problem?

why dont our assistants stick around then? why do all of them leave and do REALLY WELL elsewhere?

maybe because they hate their boss and cant break the communication barrier.

Norm Chow got mad with Chuck as well so dont give me that shit.

Chuck Sucks, Fire him not the OC AGAINNNNNNNNN.

you guys just wont give it up.

no but he could build around the situation

and who says its the QB?? why not the oline thats been patched for some time now.

why isnt it the WRs, RB, Dline, Etc.

blame it on one person, its a team game.

Make Stone a running QB then, something.

its not a QB problem as it HAD been in the previous year(s) Evans is good he just cant get any breaks off dropped passes and tipped picks.

Fire Chuck, hes not an offensive minded coach and we all know Offense in the NCAA is the serious priority...defense is great and all, but eventually you have to out score someone.

Defense DOESNT win championships

if evans is so good how did he get beat out by marcus stone? why was he #2 behind a shitty qb. evans is all heart and just isn't an acc caliper qb.

maybe he got beat out because Stone couldnt do shit in games and would freeze up like a Deer in the headlights...

maybe he couldnt get but 10% of the reps in practice like all the practices have been for some time now.

MAYBE WE WOULDNT GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO LEAD A TEAM THAT NEEDED A BONAFIDE LEADER

maybe, just maybe...you have the red glasses on, all u see is in State red.
Change glasses, wear red to our games and brush your teeth.

oh and Fire Chuck.

so who's fault is it to not recruit and develop ACC caliber QBs?
Chuck should have known his QBs sucked ass. Jay Davis, Marcus Stone, Daniel Evans....not one were ACC ready. That's Chuck's fault. Chuck would be a great coach at like Central Florida, where he can recruit the Florida rejects that couldnt go to the big three Florida schools and win Conference USA every other year. But not in the ACC, not here at NCState. He's already shown that he cant even win in NC, Wake and UNC constantly pwning his teams. Go back to Florida Chuck. Besides one really good year in the past 6, you haven't done much at all on the field.

you want to just throw out his good year like it never happened.

stone was the replacement he recruited for rivers. the #2 qb in the nation should be a acc qb. he was great in high schol and just never came around. it happens. it was chucks fault but it was unfortunate. he has 3 coming in next year. give him a chance with these.

Rivers was NC State. Chuck had nothing to do with the level of PR's talent while he was here.

I say we somehow get cowher to come in a shape these boys up discipline wise, move chuck to Def. coordinator, and get norm chow or texas techs OC and call it a day lol, we can all dream cant we.

it is a major problem that our coordinators don't stick around, and that is my biggest problem with chuck. and if they suck and we fire them, then it's on him to have made a better hire. and when they leave on their own, i'm guessing it is because he sucks to work with.

we lost to clemson's best team in years at death valley. and it came down to the wire. I understand and may join the "fire chucks" if this happens next week. but who really thought we would win this?

^you have unreal expectations. Florida State shouldn't even be expecting to win every game. I can understand nebraska or michigan fans saying this even though it is wrong but ncstate fans have no reason.

if we didnt have the talent that we have year in and year out, i'd say we're not a football school and we shouldnt expect so much. but chuck has turned the attitude and the talent around. with the talent we have, we oughta at least be able to beat the bottom teams in the conference. this crap where we lose to the bad teams, and win occasionally against the good teams is just a result of bad coaching, and after several years of it, you gotta say enough is enough.

its not the big games (fsu, bc, clemson, etc) that i worry about...its the teams we should beat that i've been trained to think we'll lose to, and thats just sad.

fsu doesnt count. the team always comes out pumped for them. i'm talkin on a bigger scale, not just this season. its a trend.

hey, you bring in the people, you better use em right. i'm not gonna support you for bringing in good players and playin like crap. whats the point in that?

precisely, we act like the FSU win was a HUGE WIN for us.

they are about to be last in the division and are having just as bad of a year.

so really, our wins arent even that big.

i agree we should be expecting to win every game...just not this year. we're having a crappy year. shit happens, there are setbacks. lets just see if he can do anything next year w/ most of this team back before calling for his head.

I cant wait till someone informs Chuck of his previous quote back in 04: "This is the first losing season this great university has had in seven or eight years, but it won’t happen again."

Fire Chuck Amato

I was around for that. PR was a Ocain recruit. We had big wins against teams we should not had and loses to teams we should have beat. What we did not have was facilities. All that has changed in the last 7 years besides the Gator bowl season is I have to pay more dues and I cant get decent seats anymore for the games.

I think Amato is better than Mike Ocain was.

I have enjoyed more years and wins with Amato than with any coach I remember as a fan.

that said....

Keep Amato for a couple more years

this thread amazes me.

the only thing that has changed in the last 10 years is that for 4 of them state had rivers.

that is the ONLY real difference i have seen in the past decade.

Actually, if you take the last 10 years, NCSU has 2 losing seasons...both of them are Amato's.
