al tool?I'm doing the timing belt on my gf's V6 Accord and can't get the damn crank pulley off. I've tried a torch and PBblaster coupled w/ a makeshift strapwrench (visecripts, serp belt, 2' screwdriver) against a 3' breaker bar and i've tried a corded electric impact gun. no luckThe pulley has a recessed hex shaped indention. Is there a honda tool thats like a long handle w/ a big hex to fit this? one could then pry against that w/ a breaker bar. Any idears? Anyone want to weld me up a tool?

damn, you know i went in halves with a friend on that tool, but he moved to charlotte.try to get your GF to sit in the car with the foot on the brake, in 5th gear(if 5spd). and get a breaker bar and a nigger rigged extension behind the breaker bar and pop it loose.if not.... then stick a lifetime warranty screw driver (flathead) on the side of the brake caliper where there is a slot...

This thing has proven to be popular. I had to use it again because the crank bolt came loose AGAIN after torquing it to the spec. Now it has thread locker and 210 lb-ft. I still haven't welded the reducing bushing in place yet. For now I just use some 1/4x20 sawed off bolts to keep that fitting in place.[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 11:14 PM. Reason : ^^^that is the 45 mm one, you need the 55 mm ~ 2"]

i built the tool above out of pipe fittings, etc and after some grinding to make the hex part fit and me bouncing on the end of a 5' pipe on a breaker bar, i heard the SNAPOP! i've been sweet dreaming of. oh yes. oh yes.

done. working on V6 FWDs sucks.
11/11/2006 10:38:25 PM
i'll sell this tool to somebody. cost like $20 in parts plus an hour of griding to make the bitch fit. $40
11/12/2006 11:22:00 AM
I'll sell the POS one I made a couple weeks back for $10. It's just a couple of pipe fittings, but it got the job done for a '90 accord auto. & you all were right, loosening up the motor mounts isn't that bad
