this is ALOT better than Herb

have you seen that intensity in the last few years?
have you seen us START with the ball down low in the last few years?

we dont have the height to be dominate, but damn if it doesnt get exciting watching the team and watching Sid Vicious

A lot of people will say ANYTHING is better than Herb, even if we get killed by bad teams.

I'm just happy for Sid that he got his first win and saved himself from the second guessing that would have surely gone his way. I liked Herb as much as anyone but he's gone and Sid is here.. GG coach on your first real win... can't wait to see the team play on TV when they finally do..

there was one play where fells hook passed it over his head to grant who hook shot the ball

they looked like monkeys

there's a little bit more energy with the team

but i don't see the cohesiveness of the team

fells, grant and costner are all individual players

Atsur and [insert some other white guy] look lost

do you think that could be partially attributed to the fact that this was their first real game in a completely new system under a new coach?

gimmie a break, it's not like Lowe just arrived yesterday and Atsur, Grant, Fells and McCauley haven't played together before

what difference does it make if you've played with someone before if you're making dramatic changes in what system you're playing?

and as far as how long lowe has been here, a month or two of practice is nothing compared to a few games experience...please give it more than 1 game before you start the stupidity.

^i think he's just countin the exhibition cause some of us paid more attention this season to the exhibitions in years past because of all the mystery.

good god you fag, Lowe's been here all of 4 1/2 months - we put up 90+ points, I don't care if it was against DeVry. A win is a win is a win. Plus a bonus in that we aren't playing Herb snooze fest crap ball.

We'll only get better once we get some of his recruiting classes in here. So shaddup.

technically this was their third game. officially it was their first.

give this group a year and they will be really good, the plays we have are NASTYYYYY straight from the Pistons almost.

The RBC center was as loud as it could be given the amount of people in there tonight, if we can get that place full, Lord help the opposition.

Charlie....Remember that we lost 3 good seniors and a great PF/Center in Simmons, and Andrew Brackman isnt playing anymore....we basically have 5 players.

Considering that fact, this was MUCH better than Herb. There were no 5 minute scoring droughts, there were no boring ass offensive sets, no yelling "WTF COACH CALL A TIMEOUT", and Sidney got mad a couple of times and it seemed to work. Plus, when we had a fast break opportunity, we took it. There were no desperation 3's because the shotclock ran down, we ran our sets and took the first open shot and seemed to make some good decisions on when to pull it back.

Our first half D was shit, but Fells made the comment that Sidney had been telling them to play close on the perimeter (all week in practice) b/c wofford would shoot any slightly open shot...they didnt do it in the first half and he said next time they will listen to coach before the game starts, not halfway through.

IMO, we lose that game with Sendek and the 6 players Sidney had at his disposal tonight. We made a lot of easy baskets that we wouldnt have been going for (fast breaks) if Sendek was coaching.

oh yeah, it was Costner--he's bigger and more ape-like

Costner used to have a pretty three point shot before he fractured his ankle last year...now, not so much

i do think we played very haphazardly tonight--thats what we need to get over

^with Herb we're winning this game by 8 points for most of the game

[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 10:21 PM. Reason : Jay Davis was gooder than Marcus Stone]

it was a pass from Costner to McCauley, and McCauley dropped it b/c it was a little behind him. Bad play still, but thats the one unless I'm thinking of a different one.

Thats accurate, although there were times when we looked great also....we looked horrible on D in the first half tonight...this quote pretty much summed that up.

jesus chris, people will complain about fucking anything. Offense wasnt the problem, our players playing help defense and watching the kickouts go by their faces for wide open 3's in the first half was the problem. If the players would have listened to lowe in the first half and played D the way they did in the 2nd half, we're lookin at a 90-65 win instead of a 92-88 win

that one was away from the band, so it must have been second half, the other one was right in front of the band in the 1st half and went in.

a challenge to all you negative bitches: what spot will we finish in the ACC?

throw a number out there so we can drag it back up and laugh at you in a few months.

obviously it shouldn't have been that close, but i thought they played decently. i was happiest to see mccauley score 26 and playing some mean inside game...most people were saying he played like shit last game but i thought he looked good, and still does. cant wait to see him develop some more.

and of course its great to see atsur back at what looks to be 100%.

costner better not shoot FTs like that all season tho

well put. its a much better game. i sure the players are just as happy to be playingit as we are to be watching it. it was a needed change, and i don't care if it takes a year or two for the program to adapt around it...we'll get there.

I've always thought N.C State has had one of the most passionate fan bases in the country.

Perhaps now I can add in IRRATIONAL to that statement.

STFU about a 4pt WIN in the 1st game with a new coach in a rebuilding year.

The tradition doesn't continue just because we attempted to copy UNC and get someone who used to play for us be our coach

Putting up the 83 championship video before the game starts doesn't change the fact that it happened 23 years ago

Based on tonight's game, we can't compete in the ACC if we keep playing like this

Better then this misery....

Quote :
"Playing in front of a Wells Fargo Arena crowd for the first time this season, Arizona State defeated the University of Victoria 58-53 Tuesday. First-year coach Herb Sendek started two freshmen, including guard Christian Polk, who led the Sun Devils with a team-high 15 points.

After leading 26-23 at the break, the Sun Devils opened up their lead by taking more high percentage shots in the second half, leading by double digits for a period of time before the Vikes came back to cut the lead to three points in the final minute."

I will take anything over 26-23 over the UNIVERSITY OF MOTHER FUCKING VICTORIA

just like chuck is going to take his shitty attitude with the media to the grave, herbie is gonna take that fucking intelligent ass offense devised somewhere in a basement at carnegie mellon with him to the grave!

The answer is yes. Herb would have had atsur on #5.

Quote :
"Lowe: What did you call on Engin Atsur's driving layup?
Yea, what we were doing was trying to put it in his hands. We had run a play where Ben McCauley had scored twice easy inside and we felt that they were going to make an adjustment, they're a good ballclub. We wanted to make an adjustment as well.

I just told Engin to hold it a little longer and see what you have because someone will be open on this play. He made it, he did it himself. He made a nice move and got to the basket. "

atsur and mccauley were golden gods tonight.

we didnt play good d but wofford didnt miss SHIT either. they could hang with almost anyone the way they shot in the 1st half.

our offense is good we just have a lot of work to go on d so we can play shutdown the whole game instead of just a few minutes like we have the last 3 games. a small win is a win. we just want to make sure we beat all these little teams.

we haven't heard the last of wofford if they continue to shoot like tonight

Do you know why they were making all their shots??? THEY WERE WIDE OPEN. Our team didn't play defense.

P.S. Wofford was picked to come in 5th in the great Southern Conference behind UNCG, App State, Davidson, Charleston.

Get off of here.

This season is going to be annoying. Every win people will be putting down Herb for some reason and every loss people will be claiming he would have won.

Herb is going to do great at ASU and Sid is going to do great here.

** I think we'll finish 9th this year in the ACC. You know what? That's fine by me as long as we play balls to the wall and smart..
