Which is better- Novak or Deiters for Organic 2? I have Novak for ch 221 now- but his averages for tests are terrible BUT he's a good teacher- and I've heard good things about Deiters. SO- just help me out with any opinions- Thanks!

His averages for tests are overall bad because people don't study. His tests are almost exactly like the study guides he gives you with just minor variations, plus he is VERY available if you need help with any concepts.

NOVAK all the way. He is always willing to meet with me anytime to help me with topics I don't understand. He really cares about his students.

You might want to check old threads concerning Novak. I know I posted in there on a couple of occassions...if you can find them then you would probably think they are helpful. Personally I dislike Novak for tons of reasons, all of which caused a firestorm of TWW controversy in the thread. Bottom like IN MY OPINION, if you're female then you'd probably do well in Novak's class. Its interesting that he's on Facebook, and he also has it listed that he's "hooked up" with several of them...or at least he did when I was in the class. Even if it was a joke, its still unprofessional. He is an interesting professor though. After attemping CH 223 a few times, only having to drop the course, I found that Dr. Sandberg is by far the best organic chem 2 teacher. If her distance education section is open, then take it. Even though the lectures are online, its not any more difficult than being in class. In fact, she made her DE lectures available to the traditional style classes as well. [Edited on November 12, 2006 at 1:37 AM. Reason : asdf][Edited on November 12, 2006 at 1:39 AM. Reason : asdf]
