This is an amazing album. For some reason I hadn't heard of them till a week or so ago, but these guys are geniuses. It's not really death metal, it's not really brutal, but it's somewhere in there and yet still very melodic. And through the weaving harmony and melody they've managed to retain the metal spirit that so many other Swedish bands have lost or raped ::coughINFLAMESARCHENEMYcough::. And that's not to compare them in the least to In Flames or AE, they're completely different. Just saying that generally sweeping melody and brutal metal usually aren't spoken in the same sentence.Definitely progressive metal but here, speed, technicality, brutality, unique harmonizing between some ridiculous guitarists, sick blasting, audible and skilled bass, and death metal vocals all come together to be something insane. a definite must for any death metal fan.imagine Decapitated's 'Organic Hallucinosis' + Mastodon's 'Blood Mountain' + Morbid Angel's 'Alters of Madness' + some fresh ideas[Edited on November 9, 2006 at 3:40 PM. every now and then I'll run across a band that I hear and immediately I feel that I must have every one of their albums...among these are Opeth, Meshuggah, Suffocation, Decapitated, Hate Eternal, Necrophagist, and now Anata. I just need to make sure I have the cash to blow on a few more CDs
