Call autozone and whatever other autoparts stores are around. If they don't have it I'm sure they could probably order it and still sell it to you cheaper than a dealer.

^Thats whats in there from factory and in the owners manual. I checked with my friends who own e46 m3 and some forums and thats what they use.

why does bmw always require some weird oil weight? mine uses 0w40, but I would think 10w30 would be fine.

Mobil 1 makes 0W-40. I used to run it in my S2000.

i've been using 15w50 for a few years now, and the car seems to like it better than the 0w40.

yea, i've just switched to Mobil 1 EP 15w50 too. We'll see how it goes.
