for those of you that actually own a business (as in legal with a bank account), who do you bank with, and are you pretty happy with the customer service and rates? i'm trying to decide between capital bank and wachovia, leaning more towards capital though because their customer service is fantastic, they offer cheap services, and they have an all-day banking day, it's not over at 2pm. i don't need a lot of services, just basically an account to put payments into and a credit line of probably $10,000 to start. any input?

after you whore me your accounting services, i'm going to commission you to restore and pimp an el camino for the company car... for right now it's going to have to be the piece-of-shit-hey-i-eat-keys mobile.

We used to have SouthTrust, which got bought out by Wachovia.SouthTrust was great, Wachovia is okay, I guess. We had a long term issue where we kept getting erroneous overdraft messages, somehow connected to our line of credit, that took at least 3-4 months for the bank to resolve. That was a big pain. Other than that, we haven't had any problems.

we use wachovia commercial loan division to handle our line of credit (600K) and they are very good about statements. however, wachovia connection online is difficult to learn and offers limited user functions. It allows check inquiries and stopages, but doesn't let you see your account history and transactions like a personal checking account will. The monthly statement is fine for our purposes as far as reconcilement, etc. The 2pm thing does suck, but most checks come into the post office in the AM, so we can get them in by 2 if the amount is substantial. Each day costs about 20.00 in interest per 10,000 so that's really not a big deal for such a small amount. Our account is fairly large with them and the fees are a bit high, you may want to talk to them about a smaller account with low fees, sounds like you don't need the amenities and support we do.[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 12:28 PM. I use BB&T for my business account

these are my requirements:- checking account- no atm fees, no online fees, no in-person banking fees (that's just ridiculous)- low interest rate on a loan ($10k, though less is negotiable... i just like to have padding)- PLEASANT customer service; i don't expect people to kiss my ass when i walk in the door, but i do appreciate manners, a good attitude, and things getting done properly- a branch close to the area around cary parkway, nw maynard and chapel hill rd. (near the morrisville movie theater)

BB&T. Check into it. They have alot of great products and services for small and large businesses. It's also a "hometown" bank, so the customer service is usually better.
