how can i do this?

and do they give out IPs that aren't in the same group or batch? like say i had 11.22.33.44 right now, normally they would assign 11.22.33.(00-99) to me randomly after some time, but would it be possible to get the 3rd set changed like 11.22.35.44?

there were a few ways I found, assuming you're using a *nix router

spoof a different mac address, DHCP renew
override the DHCP IP via ifconfig, release and renew
set a different DHCP client identifier (in dhclient.conf or dhcpcd.conf), renew

note that I did not find any of these methods to allow for pulling more than IPs than you signed up for (a new IP replaces your old one), but I wasn't looking that hard so there may be ways to do that too :-p

Just call them up and explain that you accidently got yourself blocked from a website you were working on and you HAVE to finish it tonight. Explain that you were having trouble FTP'ing in and had to reconnect a lot and the firewall auto blocked you for multiple connection attempts.

They'll do it for you. Happened to me once when working with a no name webhost for a customer. I was trying to MOVE the data and because of how they had things setup I had to reconnect for each file. I got about half done and i got blocked for too many requests *laughs*.

And before you ask, the above is one of many reasons we were moving the customer off that webhost.

are you connected directly to your cable box or via a router?

#1. connect your computer to the cable box directly & not the router
#2. delete all cookies from whatever browser you use
#3. click Start -> Run to open command prompt
-type "cmd" then click OK.
-at the command prompt, type the following:
ipconfig/flushdns (hit enter)
ipconfig/release (enter)
ipconfig/renew (enter)
-exit run window
#4. view your local area network connection, right click to open "properties", click on "internet protocol (TCP/IP) & click the properties button, click on "use the following IP address" & type this in the 4 boxes.... "(10.0.0.1)" hit the tab button which should enter an address in the "subnet mask" boxes, then click on OK, then OK again.
#5. view your LAN network connection again - properties on TCP/IP but this time click on the button that says "obtain an IP address automatically", click OK, then OK again...

you should be able to access whatever site your IP was banned from (if that's your issue)
