i went out of town this weekend and shut my computer down upon leaving. when i got back, i fired it up. i had to type my windows password in as usual, when my desktop appeared there was only MY DOCS, MY COMP, INT Explor, & Recyc Bin all on the glorious grass hill/blue sky wallpaper....WTF.

All of the papers that i had written in Mic Word were still in my docs, so i opened one up. well the instalation wizard to Word showed up. i did not have to find the codes or anything like that but it was weird. my paper was brought up and that was all good. Itunes was also the same way with installing, and my library was fucking empty 30 gigs of music, as well as my pictues (over 1000).

My recycling bin however contains things that i removed a week ago which makes no sense. also my hard drive used space is exactly the same as was. if anyone can come take a look or give me a pointer that would be awesome. im running XP. i dont know a whole lot about computers but something is fishy here damn it.

have you tried checking for spyware or viruses? Have you restarted your computer?
