i'd rather not take an intro... what's a good moderately challenging non- intro class i could take? can be zoology, biology, etc.

how about botany?bo 213

When you say you have to take a biology course ... what course prefixes that does limit to you? Strictly BIO? Or can you do BIT, ZO, BCH, etc.?
10/23/2006 8:40:21 AM
anything that has to do with biology... it doesn't have to be a specific course prefix.
10/23/2006 12:55:06 PM
zo 150....its an intro course...but by no means an easy, slacker class..
10/23/2006 1:10:07 PM
BO200 is intro and challenging, I'm guessing similar to ZO150.I'd personally take BIT510 or something equivalent, which assumes you are a graduate student / can work a bit harder and wont' be too stirct on prereqs.

I loved Animal Behavior, it's a 400 level ZO course but not as challenging as most 400 levels and very interesting (I had Dr. Engell)
10/23/2006 2:12:35 PM
that sound interesting. i might just end up doing some BS online class through wake tech. it's so stupid that i need to take this class anyway.
10/23/2006 2:17:00 PM
^^ i think behavior has pre-reqs since its zo410.....im in it now, and i think it has zo 260 for its prereq..
10/23/2006 2:33:58 PM
i've already graduated with a degree. i think i can bypass prereqs at this point.
10/23/2006 4:33:10 PM
I liked zo 150...it's definitely challenging...but it's a good class
10/23/2006 4:42:28 PM
i don't want a challenging class. i have a full time job and am already taking 6 credit hours.
10/23/2006 5:21:45 PM
take marine biology
10/23/2006 6:54:01 PM
^ man...i hated that class.
10/23/2006 8:15:20 PM
you cannot compare BO 200 (esp. if you have van dyke) to ZO 150, ZO 150 is way harder
10/23/2006 9:37:17 PM
i might take marine biology... it's in the department i got my degree from.
10/23/2006 10:59:20 PM
I am in BO 200 right now with Dr. Jordan, and I loathe the class. He doesn't really teach, and the information is a little dull (and there is a lot of it).
10/24/2006 12:24:45 AM
Any botany class with Dr. Beckman. He cancelled class so much that we didn't have a second test (he counted our best score twice) and he gave away stuff that went along with the lectures - food, clove cigarettes, alcohol, etc. There was no book and the test questions came straight from the lecture.

DO NOTI REPEATDO NOT take ZO 150Most work for a pointless bio class I can imagine. The guy that taught me (mozley) doesn't teach anymore so it may be different...but that class was way too much work for a 100 level zo class.
10/27/2006 12:12:48 AM
take bio 183 with me next semesterparks is teaching it and she is awesome...i had her for zo 160.
10/27/2006 3:02:59 AM
stay away from Botany classes. they suck. i would take a zo class. easier and much more interesting.[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 10:33 AM. Reason : add]

If thats the same parks that teaches zo421 then she's a dirty pirate hooker and I do not recommend her class.
10/27/2006 11:22:46 AM
^^depends on what your interests are
10/27/2006 12:37:57 PM
^^^^^ ....well...it's an intro zo class to weed out people from the zoology major.
