THERES 1 F*()&__(&* SI in the state of Maryland right now... and THE ONLY dealership that has the one is the one near my house where I HATE the guy there, he's a COMPLETE douschebag that utterly repulses me...

and the one they have is black... I'm not buying a black car b/c they are way too freaking hot in the summer... and I don't feel like paying $2k for a stupid navigation system when I have mapquest/google maps always available and a Rand McNally USA to back that up in the car

I don't like this whole not being able to just go buy what I want thing... expecially for a stupid civic...

you should try a c70 with a 7 speedtranny and a 3 speed axle, its like legpressing for 5 minutes just to get that sum btich up to 60, after 21 shifts, 2 stoplights = 42 clutch presses, because you had to double clutch in every gear wih no synchros

I've driven stiff clutches before... anybody that knows me knew and loved the VDUB with the frayed clutch cable... my dads truck has a very stiff clutch and thats what I learned to drive a manual on...

but I live in Annapolis MD, and commute 50 miles a day. at least once a week I hit an hour of stop and go traffic. My audi's clutch is beatiful and I have no problems with stop and go on it, but my leg cramped on the test drive of the -S...

my cubemate has a WRX and I was talking to him about stop and go and he said thats the absolute only thing that ever causes him grief...

and theres no way I"m getting an Auto RSX... b/c thats in teh same boat as a v6 mustang and is only for chicks...

I've got an F150 and an A4... I just recently purchased the A4 but I'm driving WAY more than I was when I purchased it, I put on 7k in 2 months... and its rolled across 60k before I realized it.

when I purchased it I was in raleigh and had a buddy who was really good with VW's... now I don't have a driveway to work on it at all and live far away...

so I think I can trade both of them in at the same time... theres a chance that I'll sell my truck on its own... but I've been trying for a while...

so 60k on an audi... I keep reading horror stories about extroidinarily expensive repair bills... but I do love the my audi... but still... anybody actually had or heard of an Audi making 180k miles???

^^ 180k? shouldn't be a big deal. at 60k mi i will be changing my timing belt. any sane individual will probably be fine until 75k (factory service interval is 105k). aside from that, make sure you're using the big oil filters & decent oil every 5k miles & there shouldn't be any major issues.

I don't have enough power in my legs to drive clutch yet. I've only gotten 1/3 of my leg power back. It's hard as hell to even get out of my chair from just leg power.

umm...lol. The RSX-S has the easiest clutch out of any car i've ever driven. you could think about engaging the clutch and it would be engaged. half the time i'd only need to lightly press the clutch in about half an inch to an inch in and it would be engaged.

the STi had a really stiff clutch but even that wasn't anything to talk home about in stop and go traffic. don'[t buy a m/t if you are going to bitch about it.

yes

not only is it better but its safer. you don't have to 'read' a piece of paper and drive at the same time. you can keep your eyes on the road the whole time and just listen to verbal commands. Plus nothing beats being able to see exactly how far away you have left on your trip, time estimation etc etc...AND if you do get lost being able to get home easy and/or find a gas station,store,whatever with ease

I test drove a used RSX-S... my leg cramped and that kinda pushed me out of that catagory along with the $24k pricetag, I'd like to stay around or below $20k just b/c I feel like saving some money. The SI can be had for $21kish if you can find it, and it supposed to be a fun car to drive...

I like the RSX exterior better than the SI, but the interior of the RSX is straight spartan whereas the Civic without Nav is pretty nice. I think I might drop in and drive a 0mile -S again just to re-think all of this,

the reason I want an SI/RSX is they honda's are the best fitting economy cars for my size. I don't care about a car being fast as long as its quick and fun to drive. and I messed up my accord by lowering it (and I did it correctly with nice springs and camber kits had a lifetime alignment deal and it still ate through 17/235's like nobodies business) so I want something off the lot thats going to be fun to drive and gets really good gas milleage (>30highway).

I hate the way the new civics look but think the SI is tolerable, expecially for what it offers. I also had really really good luck with my first accord, the only things that ever went wrong with it was stuff that would be my fault.

I'm also kinda considering the mazda 3 but mazda's always seem to fall apart quickly(ford relation) I'm gonna look at the new Sentra, but old sentra's deffinitly didn't fit me. I hit my head on anything toyota's roof... American and European cars are out

You'd be fine with a regular Coupe.

Its relatively quick, relatively sporty, and a lot cheaper.

The RSX - S is at the end of its production line and whats going to replace it isn't known. Its also not better then the Si, so there's really no reason to even consider it.

If you must have an Si, then wait a bit till the 4 door sedan comes out. It might make finding the coupe a bit easier.

2008 - 09 will also see updates to the Acura TSX and Honda Accord, both of which are expected to be sportier and will probably fall exactly inline with what your Audi is now.

No 2000+ car thats properly taken care of will give you a massive mechanical headache. I think you either just want a new car or aren't very intelligent j/k!

i think most of these "really stiff clutches" other than the Truck ones the full weight of my foot will depress w/o any extra effort (not really but seriously folks wtf).

Unless the clutch is made to handle 500+ ft-lbs and isn't hydraulic shut up please.

When i worked at the golf course we would fight to lay sod in order to not have to drive the big ass old ford we used to drop it off (no a/c, spilt muffler and veins popping out of your left leg sucked) the only fun part was reving the motor when golfers were tryin to swing

(the fork lift was the best job though)

its entirely possible that the one I did drive was messed up...

but after learning that I'm gonna get screwed on both my trade ins (no surprise) I've decided to just offload my truck for whatever I can get for it (like $5k less than its worth but still more than I owe...) and put whatever I come out on top for into the audi...

I guess I'll see over the next 3 years if this was a smart move or not...

whats the point of spending 1500 more than you need to? you can buy nav. systems for pretty cheap you know... and take it with you when you sell the car.

hell i can turn my treo 700 into one for a hundred bucks

or you could go with verizon and get a free phone with gps navigation.

i give those things a life span of 8-10 years tops before they have to be replaced

lol i use it multiple times a month, i use it to get to track events, i use it to locate gas stations near the track. and thats just the GPS part of the double-din touchscreen LCD which by themselves is >>>>>> single din non-LCD units.

the point is it looks 10000 times better. the other point is that most cars worth buying already come with double din screens and are fully functional with other features of the car. another point is americans use this same philosophy with everything especially cell phones. "why buy a phone that does more than call another phone blah blah blah" which is why the united states is in the stone age compared to most countries when it comes too 'cool tech.'

oh and another point of it is i do take it from car to car...it went from my STi to my Evo with no problems. and considering it cost me $830 for a new AVIC-D1 when they first came out over a year ago, i'd say that can't be beat. and yes i do have the bluetooth nav. system for my pda which works but not as well for road trips. oh and verizon sucks.

i spent 1 weekend on mine and you wouldn't know it wasn't stock unless you either have been in another maxima or you saw the ~7-8 seconds it takes to bootup

i do however take time every once in a while to tweak it to how i want it or to upgrade the front end



if you read the mp3car forums you would know that most of the people on there strive for a "stock look"
