The dvd player in my computer only seems to play videos at super fast forward. Its been so long since I've played one that I can't even remember if it used to do this or not. How do I fix it?

take some speed. maybe some crack, then watch it. it'll probably feel like it's in slow motion then

ok how about a helpful suggestion?

ok how about some helpful details?
10/22/2006 3:50:03 PM
what do you need to know?
10/22/2006 3:50:40 PM
have you tried a different player?
10/22/2006 3:53:11 PM
what program are you using to play the dvd and what kind of drive is it?
10/22/2006 3:55:17 PM
I've got the dvd player and the cd burner. I can play music and games using the cd burner slot, but obviously not a dvd. Basically the dvd player is useless

Are you using PowerDVD? WinDVD? Something else?
10/22/2006 3:57:59 PM
refresh and answer azaka's question b/c he asked the same thing but you didn't understand mine
10/22/2006 3:58:23 PM
I've tried using Win Media Player and Power DVD
10/22/2006 3:59:18 PM
and the exact same results on both of those?
10/22/2006 4:00:07 PM
yes, same results...everything runs super fast.
10/22/2006 4:02:56 PM
i dunno what the deal is...but I'm just gonna make an image of the dvd then mount it on a virtual drive...blah too much trouble
10/22/2006 4:24:29 PM
if it's the exact same in multiple programs then it's probably hardware related - does a music cd work in the dvd drive?
10/22/2006 5:57:48 PM
nope...music cd also runs super fast

I had this problem once before... not sure what was goin on. (<-- I'm useless)I think I ended up ripping the dvd's that had that problem, then playing from my HD. But mine only did it with certain dvd's. ShrinkTo5 should rip it just fine.
