I'm a democrat. I don't think we should of gone to Iraq. I think we should work towards getting out as soon as possible. All that being said, WTF is up with CNN and it's news coverage of the war. I think they're editorializing. Every time I go to their website it's another front page of "Oh No, the US is fucking up again." Shut the fuck up about policy and just report the damn news.[Edited on October 19, 2006 at 2:03 PM. Reason : .]

no it doesn't. but randy is often wrong.

Clinton News Network
10/19/2006 2:36:23 PM
http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=439541goes right along with what i was saying. i urge everyon to try out new news sources and give biased sources like cnn the boot.
10/19/2006 2:41:19 PM
if CNN needs the bootthan Fox News needs to be dragged out into the field, shot, and left for deadagreed?
10/19/2006 2:44:39 PM
that was a retarded post
10/19/2006 2:45:31 PM
fox is very biased.better?
10/19/2006 2:46:53 PM
basically what I'm saying is that I'm disappointed with CNNbut Fox News is a fucking jokei complain that I "think" that CNN is editorializingthat's all that Fox News does... they have no integrity
10/19/2006 2:49:26 PM
Well to be fair, Fox News was created in response to CNN's biased bullshit. It just got a little too carried away with the slant.
10/19/2006 2:54:24 PM
anybody who gets the majority of their news from television is asking for trouble anyway.
10/19/2006 2:55:50 PM
what?it was created because Rupert Murdoch is a scum sucking asshole who knows how to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the conservative winghe did it in Australia and he's doing it here
10/19/2006 2:56:51 PM
If that's what CNN has to do to cancel out the Bush admin's spinning and lying, then so be it.
10/19/2006 3:00:38 PM
NOthat's not their job
10/19/2006 3:01:03 PM
10/19/2006 3:11:36 PM
^^ I'm sure embellishing, cherry picking, and manufacturing intelligence to go to war isn't in anyone's job description, but it was done. Our political system has too much corruption in it now, and a critical media can help to bring attention and to fix those problems. A passive media just becomes the whipping boy for politicians to manipulate.
10/19/2006 3:22:03 PM
Huh, so where's the lie in the current headline, which is taken directly from a "top US Military spokesperson"?
10/19/2006 3:25:54 PM
it's not that they're a lieit's the constant bombardment of "The US is fucking up in Iraq"
10/19/2006 3:40:04 PM
1. It's the #1 story in America (or should be, war should take precedence over scandal and Madonna in media)2. We arent' exactly doing a bang up job lately. Maybe the generals should stop saying that we aren't doing so well?
10/19/2006 3:45:03 PM
FUCK CNN FOR REPORTING THE NEWS!11 how about THEY report and WE decide...oh wait
10/19/2006 4:17:49 PM
carpet bomb the whole fucking place and get it over with. its the perfect thing.
10/19/2006 4:30:19 PM
10/19/2006 4:48:25 PM
So I'll say, "The media focus entirely on the bad news."And you'll say, "All of it IS bad news!"And I'll say, "How do you know you just think that because your only real exposure is from the media?"And you'll say, "Why do you automatically assume that it isn't all bad news?"And I'll say, "I just find it hard to believe that every single newsworthy thing coming out of Iraq is entirely negative."And you'll say, "Nuh-uhn, haven't you seen the news? Why, just today..."And then I will just crawl into a bottle until you shut up or I'm too drunk to care.
10/19/2006 4:53:11 PM
If there is so much good news to be had in Iraq, how come this administration doesn't report it at any press conferences?Hell, even marginally good news, or even neutral news can be spun up into something positive by this admin and their grunt Snow.
10/19/2006 5:07:33 PM
Sigh...I basically called it.I didn't say there is "so much good news," but I think any situation where you find uniformly bad or good news is rare.As to why the administration doesn't try to play up good or neutral things...part of it is what seems to be contempt for what we think, part of it is incompetence, and part of it is that as soon as they say good things, people rush to rip holes in whatever they say.
10/19/2006 5:19:22 PM
I suppot this thread
10/19/2006 6:01:47 PM
In case you didn't notice, the US IS fucking up in Iraq.

Any war that hasn't noticably progressed over the last three years is not exactly being "won". Any war that has regressed over the last two years is being lost.

PS: I'm also still mad at them because they fucked up Crossfire--and then took it off the air. I liked that show.

thank god i rely on AP radio news for most of my daytime news, i wouldnt want those communists at turner infiltrating my brain and beating me over the head with their communist ways.
10/20/2006 1:57:37 AM
Oh oh, how about the Clinton News Network? That seems to be my mom's favorite.
10/20/2006 2:01:22 AM
This is good news, right?http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/10/20/iraq.sadr.ap/index.html?eref=rss_world
10/20/2006 9:10:01 AM
CNN's war coverage is getting more and more like msnbc's...where anytime there is good news it is presented like "HEY THERE IS GOOD NEWS!!!"...this is obviously not often...but any time there is bad news it is presented like "....yeah....guess what....more bad news....we suck...bush sucks....republicans suck......lets all go home"......just my perception
10/20/2006 11:15:55 AM
By the way, has anyone noticed that the violence has increased in Iraq leading up to our elections? The terrorists are clearly trying to affect the outcome of our elections in favor of the Democrats--because they know that many Democrats want to pull out of Iraq.
10/20/2006 1:17:28 PM
There's a White House press conference on now and the goddamned press corps is too fucking stupid or uncooperative to understand the difference between strategy and tactics. For the White House press corps and the rest of the ill-informed, good working definitions are strategy = "plan" and tactics = "methods." For fuck's sake!
10/20/2006 1:30:40 PM
^^i've got news for you buddy, EVERYONE want's to pull out of iraqi doesn't matter whether the democrats obtain control of either/both/neither of the housesyou're going to start to see a significant decrease of US soldiers (maybe up to a complete withdrawl) by the time of the presidential electionsthis war is very unpopular
10/20/2006 1:36:14 PM
For what it's worth no war has ever been popular.
10/20/2006 1:41:16 PM
^^Uh. . .no, "buddy," that's incorrect. The number of soldiers in Iraq will actually stay the same.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15220816/http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-11-troops-iraq_x.htm
10/20/2006 1:49:18 PM
Stay the same, decrease, what's the difference?
10/20/2006 1:51:29 PM
nastoute
10/20/2006 1:56:42 PM
In all honesty at this point we really need to increase the number of soldiers in Iraq, declare Martial law, and rebuild the nation ourselves.
10/20/2006 1:57:44 PM
i don't care what some top army officer saidthe political climate will not tolerate it
10/20/2006 3:14:00 PM
all I have to say is that the sniper video they showed was fucking low - we really have no need to watch an insurgent snuff video of our own troops
10/20/2006 3:16:52 PM
i didn't watch itbut that was one of the main things that got me thinkingif I want to watch shit like that, i'm going to go to ogrishi don't expect that shit on cnn
