Ok tww legal team, I'm getting LOTS of txts from someone who I wish to no longer communicate with and for some reason unbeknowngst to me, he refuses to delete my number (they are mass txts so it's not like he sends specifically to me). I called verizon and they can't block the number and I don't want to change my number because it is on all of my resumes etc. So does anyone know what type of textual harrassment qualifies and who I contact?

they said they couldn't block it but they would waive the fee if I wanted to change the number. I just don't want to change the number...

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

^yeah, that's about all you can do. Have you tried telling him to piss off? Or have a friend call from that number saying that it's not your phone number anymore, and they don't want strangers texting them.

I had someone texting me multiple times an hour awhile ago but with harrassing messages and the like. Verizon wouldn't do anything about it, but luckly he fucked with something else in my life and I had the proper authorities take care of the texts/calls too.

Contact student legal services. They'll help you do everything you need to including a desist letter. If he continues you can win money.

^ unfortunately no. some providers (maybe all i dont know) charge you just to recieve the data, so when your friends txt you you get charged whether you open it or not.

I can't ignore them per se because the noise annoys me and they most often come while I am sleep. Yes I am "charged" for receiving txts. I have 1000/month so they are included but they are contributing to the 1000. I told him I talked to my lawyer but was trying to be nice about it and have not received a txt since sooooo we shall see. FYI, not wanting to just ignore text messages from someone who I don't want to receive them from has nothing to do with my getting into college, but your inability to understand subject-verb agreement should have inhibited yours...

That's odd - One of my good friends has Verizon, and they blocked a number for her when she was getting harrassing text messages from someone she didn't know...

Sorry to hear about that, though

I don't want to change my number because I should not have to. It is not only an inconvenience to me, but to others. When I called verizon, they said they would waive the fee but they could not block the number. I think the lawyer thing scared him because I used to get at least 3 a day, and I didn't get any last night or today.

Step 1 - call them up and tell them you are tired of getting all of their text messages and it needs to stop.

Step 2 - If it continues, let them know that you will be posting their phone # publicly for others to text/call them.

Step 3 - Post the # here so we can begin.

0) Go to Student Legal Services ... you are paying for it, use it.
1) Disable Text Messaging Service. Do you really need it?
2) Call and bitch until the number IS blocked. First level technicians/representatives typically won't be able to do anything for you ... keep going up the chain.
3) Talk to the person.
