even if you don't get points on your license for having a 9-over speeding ticket, your insurance could still elect to increase your premiums because of the speeding ticket - and that came straight from the insurance company when i got my last (and only) speeding ticket for 63 in a 45. the judge reduced it to 9-over and i used my PJC because i didn't want a hike in insurance.

i suggest, if you don't regularly get speeding tickets or other driving violations, that you use your Prayer for Judgement (PJC) and be done with it. then you'll just pay court costs and you'll walk out with no changes to your license or your insurance.

however, by using your PJC you agree to be free of speeding for 3yrs or else you are subject to being punished for the first ticket as well as any subsequent tickets you may receive.

ok so i was about to go searchsearchsearchyoudumbass like you people, but his question does require a different approach.

these courthouses are county by county, and the practices inside those courthouses vary county by county. what is standard here in wake county may not be wherever he got this ticket...but of course e didn't concentrate on that part of the question.

more generally tho, my understanding on 9 miles/hour over infractions is if you record is clean, then it won't affect your insurance. if you have an accident or a ticket in the last three years then you will see a rise. but that could be something i heard from a homeless drunk for all i know.

theres some info here:
http://www.ncsu.edu/stud_affairs/legal_services/legaldocs/Trafficpoints.htm
but no promises if its all 100% accurate
