Official site: http://www.paramountvantage.com/babel/HD trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount_vantage/babel/IMDB: http://imdb.com/title/tt0449467/In the remote sands of the Moroccan desert, a rifle shot rings out – detonating a chain of events that will link an American tourist couple's frantic struggle to survive, two Moroccan boys involved in an accidental crime, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children and a Japanese teen rebel whose father is sought by the police in Tokyo. Separated by clashing cultures and sprawling distances, each of these four disparate groups of people are nevertheless hurtling towards a shared destiny of isolation and grief. In the course of just a few days, they will each face the dizzying sensation of becoming profoundly lost – lost in the desert, lost to the world, lost to themselves – as they are pushed to the farthest edges of confusion and fear as well as to the very depths of connection and love.Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 Grams). Written by Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada) Starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal, and Kôji Yakusho.I am so excited to see this movie. Amores Perros is one of my favorite films of all time, and 21 Grams was my second favorite film of 2003. Iñárritu is the master of dark, interconnected storytelling, and this film looks like it will fit that mold perfectly. It's beautifully shot, the cast is great, and the script should be awesome. I feel like I'm getting my hopes up for this, but I don't think I'll be disappointed.

11/10/2006 1:17:00 AM
That was amazing. Seriously, amazing.
11/10/2006 1:17:42 AM
The only reason it isn't going to get a 10/10 on i<3movies.com is because of Collin Clifton Jr's character [Edited on November 10, 2006 at 1:34 AM. Reason : http://ilessthanthreemovies.blogspot.com/2006/11/review-babel.html]
11/10/2006 1:20:32 AM
Big ups to Alejandro. Didnt think he could do better than 21 Grams.
11/10/2006 1:29:14 AM

11/10/2006 12:19:52 PM
it certainly was a wonderful film
11/10/2006 2:58:23 PM
If you don't see this, you suck.
11/10/2006 5:37:00 PM
This just in: EVERYBODY SUCKS.Babel basically bombed in the triangle. It was doing incredibly well on a limited number of screens last week, but it hardly sold any tickets in NC.And that makes me a saaaaaad panda The Queen, on the other hand, is gonna pay for all my illegitimate kids' educations. The lesson learned: never underestimate the elderly.[Edited on November 11, 2006 at 12:53 AM. Reason : ]

that's really strange.but also a little understandable. it's like: how often do i want to see requiem for a dream? great movie sure, but when am i REALLY in the mood to be depressed about a movie, no matter how awesome? (i know it's not exactly the same thing, but it's along the same lines).
11/11/2006 2:44:22 AM
This movie looks awesome... Cate Blanchett might be the best actress in the biz
11/11/2006 3:59:44 AM
All you have to blame is the local reviewer for being an idiot and giving it a bad review.
11/11/2006 9:43:22 AM
^yeah, if only people used ilessthanthreemovies.com as their movie review source.
11/11/2006 10:19:05 AM
this isn't like "Syriana" is it?
11/11/2006 1:59:33 PM
In what way?
11/11/2006 2:03:50 PM
saw it last nighta bit slow for my taste, but great overall
11/11/2006 2:05:03 PM
^^^ no, not like syriana at all.
11/11/2006 3:38:08 PM
Its kinda like Syriana in that theyre both movies.Im gonna send every old lady that sees the Queen to the Babel theatre. Thatll teach them.
11/12/2006 9:25:22 AM
ok i was just not looking forward to it being some political commentary. But i guess the different scenes happening in different places and then coming together in the end does happen in Babel like in Syriana?
11/17/2006 5:06:02 AM
there's definitely political commentary there. it's more implied than in syriana where it was the main point of the movie.
11/17/2006 5:15:39 AM
Finally got around to seeing this movie and thought it was really well-done. However, I thought the link to the Japanese subplot was a HUGE STRETCH, and I would've liked more explantation about the implications of the Japanese hunter giving the Moroccan man the gun. Also, I don't understand all the people making comparisons between this movie and Crash. I would've NEVER even thought to compare the two movies if other people had not been doing so. I mean, they both utilize inter-connecting story lines... but Crash is much more direct and blatent in the way it addresses race relations. Babel involves characters of different ethnicities and addresses ethnocentricism... but I wouldn't describe it as a movie about race relations, cross-cultural relations, etc. Thoughts?
11/26/2006 10:00:47 PM
What will be funny is when it leaves Galaxy like next week and all you people are like "AWWWWW I WAS GONNA SEE IT LIKE NEXT WEEK"
11/26/2006 10:32:51 PM
^ haha. i do always say that.
11/27/2006 1:00:20 AM
thought it was pretty good not for everyone ( as in if you're dumb watch borat instead)tons of morons are bashing it on the net because they couldn't understand itdidn't care for all the handheld camera work[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 7:07 PM. Reason : k]
11/28/2006 6:44:52 PM

3/7/2007 10:54:29 AM
^^ Craig D. Lindsey actually writes some funny reviews whenever he's slamming a film. I'm surprised to see him dislike Babel so much though. Guess he only likes happy films.
3/8/2007 12:24:32 PM
babel definetly should have won for best editing at the oscars
3/8/2007 2:16:26 PM
i wasn't too big on this movie...it was worth a rent, but no crash imo...here is another local review
