paracetamol (for some reason, not sold/allowed in the US).works like a charm.(brand name: panadol)
10/11/2006 9:28:47 PM
I really need something easily attainable, is preferably cheap and works strong and quickly. So far Excedrin, Tylenol Rapid Release, Advil don't help in the least. And the ice cream looks potentially therapeutic. Good idea, thanks to you.
10/11/2006 9:31:22 PM
Aleve cures my hangovers pretty well.

My roommate gets the Advil LiquiGells. If he's having serious pain issues, he chews them up. Says they work that much faster that way.BTW, it's likely that the usual dose of two is what's not cutting it. That's 400 milligrams of ibuprofen, and in prescription form it's available all the way up to 1200. Most Motrin prescription pills are sold in either 600 or 800 milligram form.IF YOU HAVE ANY LIVER OR KIDNEY ISSUES OR YOU ARE NOT THAT BIG THEN DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER DOSING THAT HIGH UNLESS A DOCTOR HAS TOLD YOU TO. Hell, for safety's sake, don't ever dose over the maximum recommended dose on the label unless told to by a doctor. And I sure ain't no doctor. Some folks do have adverse/allergic reactions to ibuprofen...or end up with bleeding ulcers in their stomach.BTW, Excedrin and Tylenol are the same thing. Except that Excedrin contains a small amount of caffeine.[Edited on October 11, 2006 at 9:38 PM. Reason : ...]
10/11/2006 9:37:16 PM
^And Excedrin just works better. They don't need science to determine that. It just does!

A nurse once told me this cocktail:2 advil2 aleve1 energy drinkThe caffine in the energy drink makes them work better, and it's not too much for your body to take so long as you don't do it daily.
10/11/2006 9:46:44 PM
tru, caffeine is slightly analgesic
10/11/2006 9:47:25 PM
Might I also suggestto the face?
10/11/2006 9:56:59 PM

800 mg ibprofen or 500 naproxens
10/11/2006 11:01:10 PM
i prefer ibuprofen, but naproxin is supposed to be the best of the 4 major pain releivers in studies.
10/11/2006 11:13:32 PM
I thought Percocet was prescript, as is vicodin?

Alieve is the strongest.when i slipped a disk my dr. said i could get an Rx or just take 5 alieve whenever it hurt.
10/12/2006 12:25:48 PM
I've got a hurt back and have for about 2 1/2 months now. They told me to take 2, 3 times a day instead of getting another anti-inflammatory.
10/12/2006 1:46:49 PM
Thanks! I really appreciate the help.
10/12/2006 3:14:02 PM
naproxen is generic for aleive
10/12/2006 4:36:08 PM
^^^^ I hope you took the Rx
10/12/2006 5:12:35 PM
the rx was most likely for a higher dose of naproxen. the rx ends up being a shit ton cheaper.
10/12/2006 6:25:27 PM
all the rx is is just a higher dose. You take the exact same thing as taking 2 or 3 at a time. Get the off brand and it is cheaper or just as cheap.Aleve is naproxen sodium. Naproxen sodium is not generic, its just the raw term without a brand.
10/12/2006 11:21:05 PM
5 dollars for 30 500mg is the same as bottles of genericGENERIC MEANING NON NAMEBRAND. LAST I CHECKED GENERICS USE THE RAW NAME.thanks for respewing what i posted
10/12/2006 11:23:37 PM
Not all generics use the raw name.
