i have a '75 cb750 that wants to turn over but just wont all the way. i replaced the battery and the carbs are all cleaned and new needles and seats. it cranks at the motorcycle shop that i got to do some work on it but every time i get it back it ends up not being able to crank. i try using ether and it gets it to turn over a little but never to where its running by its self. any ideas on things i can do to get it running would be very helpful. thanks

cant remember what carbs it has on it, does it have a choke or a fuel enrichener? check the linkage and make sure it is pulling it all the way

i played with it for a min and got it to start up but pretty soon after it fired up it died down in a "puutt puutt" type fashion and cut off.

try different choke positions. I had a cb 750 once and the choke had to be just right till it warmed up.

You don't wanna sell that bike, do you?It definitely sounds like you have a "no fuel" issue...Do you have a full tank of gas? Petcock on? In "reserve" position?

is that a vacuum petcock or a manual one?

On a single-cam Honda?? I bet fifteen, yes fifteen creme filled donuts from Krispy Kreme that it's a conventional petcock. Hell, I don't even thing the bike has CV carbs. But I might be wrong; Honda and Keihin never cease to amaze me.

make sure your battery still has a charge, oil is good, lots of fuel, check the choke make sure that is working, throw some blankets over it and a heater under them to get the engine warm or run and jump start it down a hill and let it move the valves and get warm. I have a 85 hond cb700 and 99% of the time its the battery issure so if you have a new battery you might not have the wires connected correctly. trace the wires with an amp meter make sure it has eletric flow.
