..and not to like the carribean or cancun. my grandma wants to take me and my mom on a "small" cruise (she used to go on the Mississippi and Delta Queens alot) next summer for a graduation present. she has a bunch of stuff from a travel agent with things to places like New England and Alaska...and since I've never been anywhere but the southeast, I'd like to choose some place really cool. suggestions?

yeah i hear that, the caribbean was really fun and pretty and everything, but it was totally what i thought it would be. i definitely want to go on more, though. good times. i was thinking about it the other day, and i want to go on one of the alaskan cruises next time i go one one. and someday i want to go on one of the mediterranean cruises when i really have some money to blow over there. but i guess neither of those are small cruises. are you talking about like a riverboat or something? that sounds kinda neat.]

Ive seen some great small boat cruises out of Croatia. They basically island hop through the major places in croatia for however many days your particular cruise is for.

I've done Cozumel, Bahamas, Nassau, and Greece/TurkeyThey're all great. You'll enjoy it no matter where you go. I always heard the Alaska cruises are great, but only if you do the warm ones first. People say you need to do a warm, beachy cruise first and then go Alaska or you'll get the wrong idea of cruises in general.I definitely recommend Greece/Turkey. The boats aren't as nice as over here, but the scenery is

build a raft and ford the river like in Oregon Trail - be careful not to lose the oxen!

I've gone on Carniaval from Florida to Grand Caymans, Costa de Maya(sp?), and Cozumel. It was like a 7 day or something. It was fun, alot of younger pre-teens or 25-35 age group. I was 18 when I went, so I could not drink however. Carribean cruises are fun, however, they are basically drunk fests, which I'm not sure you would like to go on it with your grandmother, but had lots of fun. I've heard Alaskan cruises are great, and I'm planning on getting my parents to go for there or to the Mediterranean when I graduate. I know you said you wanted something smaller, but the best bet to get a good cruise would be to go with a larger cruise ship company. They would probably have more activities, knowledgeable staff, etc. I wouldn't recommend Carniaval though, wasn't too big of a fan of them, our cruise ship wasn't too nice. If staying in the Caribbean, I'd recommend Royal Caribbean. Sorry for spelling, a little drunk and had the desire to post shit on TWW.
