OKay so its pretty much a foregone conclusion that Evans is going to get swallowed out there tonight. So does Stone get a chance to come in and save the day?
10/5/2006 11:27:46 AM
yeah at TE
10/5/2006 11:29:39 AM
maybe, but I would think Evans would have to be getting creamed or throw a couple of picks before Stone came in.And it wouldn't make sense to bring him in after halftime cause we all know it takes him at least a half to warm up.
10/5/2006 11:29:54 AM
Yeah, this isn't going to be pretty I have a feeling tonight.Regardless, I'm only going to watch in b/t innings of the Mets game...
10/5/2006 11:31:18 AM
God I hope not. If Evans folds under FSU's defense, then Stone will spontaneously combust.
10/5/2006 11:38:05 AM
^haha
10/5/2006 11:39:48 AM
man i hope jay davis gets some snaps tonight
10/5/2006 11:41:15 AM
as long as Amato gives his same speech to all our Florida players like "These guys at Florida State...they didn't want you...they didn't think you were good enough...now lets go prove them wrong!" then the game will be competitivehopefully Stone doesnt play, because that would mean most likely Evans is not playing wellunless he comes in during the 4th quarter for mop-up duty if we're up 35 points
10/5/2006 11:42:46 AM
no. no he will not.
10/5/2006 11:47:09 AM
^x6 yo if you have picture in picture you could watch both at the same time. i know i've got it back in Charlotte on the tv that has TWC DVR.[Edited on October 5, 2006 at 11:47 AM. Reason : ]

why the fuck would stone play tonight...the guy sucks, and we won the game against boston college with that other guywe'd be stupid not to put in that other guy
10/5/2006 11:52:20 AM
10/5/2006 11:56:04 AM
Stone might get a chance to play tonight if Daniel Evans cant play at this level.Maybe he can... hopefully he can...I doubt it though...I could see us using Stone in the 4th quarter if Evans cant get it done... in fact i bet they have told Marcus to be ready tonight...
10/5/2006 12:01:24 PM
so danial evans is the name of the guy that was our qb during the boston college game?if so i think he should play
10/5/2006 12:03:47 PM
Evans will start every game and finish every game from here out (unless injured)that's the way it will beno matter how much we might be losing, chuck got his excuse to start the redshirt sophomore and i'm sure knows that he is much more talented and has more time than stone. No reason to go to a player with 1 less year of eligibility and isn't as smart. And at least Evans has the balls to step into a pass EVEN when his pocket has collapsed and he's about to get the shit knocked out of him
10/5/2006 12:07:01 PM
^damn straight. Stone is a dumb puss for the most part. He may be more athletic, but he sure as hell doesn't have the poise or smarts that Evans brings to the table.
10/5/2006 12:08:47 PM
yeah when i watched that evans guy the other day i was thinking to myself, now this right here is an actual quarterback
10/5/2006 12:09:33 PM
Itll be interesting to see what everyone thinks of Daniel Evans after tonights performance.
10/5/2006 12:09:52 PM
I'm not going to say that Stone sucks, but Evans has won the QB race at this point. He needs time to gel with the offense, and should stay in even if we're getting our asses kicked.
10/5/2006 12:10:56 PM

10/5/2006 12:17:24 PM
So if it's 10-0 entering the 4th quarter and Evans is 5-16 with 35 yards passing you don't think we should put in Stone for the 4th quarter?Look, I hate Stone more than the next guy but id put him in under those circumstances.
10/5/2006 12:21:20 PM
^ what kind of demoralizing shit is thatthey didn't put stone in on that last drive last time did they? The circumstance still remains that you can't flip flop between qb's all year and be successfull. Stick with one. Purdue and Michigan and other teams i can't think of right now have had failure in their clubs because they "flip flopped" and when a starter was used the following year all season, it made all the difference in the leadership role[Edited on October 5, 2006 at 12:27 PM. Reason : starter not started my bad]

10/5/2006 12:32:35 PM
10/5/2006 12:44:32 PM
You guys are ridiculousStone lost the starting job because he has no game smarts, he scrambles for a 3 yard gain on 3rd and 8 EVERY TIME. And that's when there's not even that much pressure, if Evans is getting hit then Stone is just going to go out there and be a dumbass and scramble around for no gain like he always does because his progression is "1) Is my main receiver open after 2 seconds? 2) Who's trying to kill me?"There's no way Stone comes in unless Evans gets injured.
10/5/2006 12:52:25 PM
Stone is going to play tonight. but I dont' mean he's going to necessarily line up at QBWe always pull out all the stops for FSU[Edited on October 5, 2006 at 1:02 PM. Reason : ]

10/5/2006 1:14:16 PM
what position, besides QB, could he line up at to actually make the defense think he'll actually touch the ball?
10/5/2006 1:16:11 PM
Weakside TE flea flicker.I'm calling it.
10/5/2006 1:20:35 PM
^^^^Andre Brown and 3 turnovers beat them last year at home
10/5/2006 1:28:20 PM
Stone may hold the ball on PATsother than that, no

10/5/2006 1:38:47 PM
10/5/2006 1:46:43 PM
I really don't think Evans will get pulled tonight. First, I don't see him going 5-15 for 36 yards. He's not going to tear it up...but it won't be that bad.Second...everybody knows Stone can't do any better. Amato knows that, Trestman knows that, and the fans know that. We pulled Jay last year because we had an unknown in Marcus. Marcus is not an unknown this year....WE KNOW HE SUCK.He won't make it into the game this year or for the remainder of his career unless it's a blowout.
10/5/2006 1:51:59 PM
As long as Evans does not get hurt, and does not cause/lead to repetitive turn overs he will not get pulled. He has to go through challenges to be perm starter of the future. What better challenge than FSU on Thursday...don't be surprised if he pulls out a good solid game...nothing great...I think the team going to rally to protect him...keep it simple yet challenging. And you know all the players don't want to look bad against they former HS teammates...State wins by 14.... 10/5/2006 1:56:32 PM
i could care less who the QB is as long as we run teh ball 30 times at least
