the author says he didn't steal anything from MSoft. For their encryption, MS has to send info outside their secure bubble, that's how he found a way in.

If you did some more reading you would see that Microsoft can't prove he stole the source code and they don't have any evidence that he did. They're just assuming that stealing the source code is the only way he could have done it.

its release is internet old but microsoft brining the lawsuit on grounds of source code theft is relatively new.
