all i know is at one of our meetings this summer (at HQ, not a store), someone brought up a bransmart ad that had a plasma for under a grand - the comments were that we were going to have to beat that price for a black friday deal...but i only work there, so what do i know

Umm ... unless people are going to be offering to camp-out together, I don't see the point in this thread when there are countless websites devoted to the subject.

hahahahhahaa.. you'll be at the back of a 100 person line if you get there at 5am..

better be there around 10pm-midnight if you want to get the best stuff... I showed up to circuit city last year for the laptop at 5am and I was around the back of the building

theres no official flyer yet, but im talking about previous black friday experiences.

There are always super mega awesome deals at best buy or cc, but they only have 5 of the item in stock and it takes months to get your rebate. And theres also the fact that you'll be waiting in lines forever and traffic will suck dicks.

Staples usually has some pretty nice deals on stuff, the stores are less crowded, and ez rebates are the best thing ever.

last year it was ass-bitingly cold outside of CC. i got the best deal of all time, but ill never do that again.

i mean, i really don't want to do it again anyway.

last year at staples i got
200gb hdd for $20
802.11g router + pcmcia card for $20
50 dvd-rs for $4
wireless intellimouse explorer (the one in my cube right now) $15
1gb sandisk mini usb flash drive $20

keep in mind this was a year ago. They also had a 17" lcd for 150 and other various things.

The thing with staples is they're getting rid of old stock so they have tons of all the things that are on sale. While they may not have laptop deals like best buy, you dont have to get there at 12am to get shit.

So compare the 56" DLP tv at best buy to the 52" LCD projection TV at circuit city.

Here is the one at best buy (will sell for $1200)
[link]http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7727374&ref=39&loc=01&st=toshiba+56"+dlp&type=product&id=1140391964310[/link]

Compare it to this one at circuit city (will sell for $999)
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panasonic-52-LCD-Projection-HDTV-PT-52LCX66/sem/rpsm/oid/152131/catOid/-12870/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Thoughts on them? Which one (if either) is worth the camp out?

if they're smart they will - nothing like a little breakage to help out your bottom line when you're selling below cost

^x5
consumerreports rates the Toshiba very highly (toshiba in the top 3 spots) #3 is for that specific model, and the panasonic pretty low (like next to last).
