thats pretty cool....im not sure your point though.
9/22/2006 10:52:57 AM
My point is I see a lot of threads on here with ridiculous comparisons like the Sears Tower behind the Raleigh skyline, and I thought this was a little more realistic.
9/22/2006 10:55:31 AM
gotcha.
9/22/2006 10:56:33 AM
some cool cities in there like Santa Ana and HonoluluColorado Springs' skyline sucks]
9/22/2006 10:57:16 AM
this is dumb. your numbers are hardly accurate.Miami/Dade County - 2,376,014Raleigh/Wake County - 748,815
9/22/2006 10:59:48 AM
there's something to be said for being built waterside - miami, pittsburgh and honolulu are my favorites of those - i had no idea honolulu's was so nicealso
9/22/2006 11:00:05 AM
i like this threadand dont want to see it ruined by chit chattersmoved to the lounge
9/22/2006 11:00:16 AM
Yeah, if I was using metro areas the numbers would be drastically different, this is just the actual city (except for Honolulu, which is unicorporated).

Norfolk, population 234,403 (but it's a joke, portsmouth is right there with 100k people)
9/22/2006 11:06:54 AM
colorado springs made me laugh
9/22/2006 11:07:53 AM
^in all fairness, that was an awful picture
9/22/2006 11:14:26 AM
Those with metro areas similar to Raleigh-Cary MSA:Tucson (Tucson MSA)Albany (Albany-Schenectady-Troy MSA)New Haven (New Haven-Milford MSA)Fresno (Fresno MSA)Omaha (Omaha-Council Bluffs MSA)Oxnard, CA (Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura MSA)Worcester, MA (Worcester MSA)Grand Rapids, MI (Grand Rapids-Wyoming MSA)Allentown, PA (Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton MSA)

I have really grown to love the Charlotte skyline at night.
9/22/2006 11:55:11 AM
9/22/2006 12:36:47 PM
Honolulu is really surprising, I had no idea it was so nice. But man it's freaking low, better hope there aren't any tsunamis in its neck of the woods. Pittsburgh also surprised me, People always talk about it being just a trashy, ugly town.
9/22/2006 12:55:20 PM
Honolulu is astounding. I went to Kona (Big Island) 3 weeks ago on my honeymoon and we flew into/out of Honolulu twice, once at night. The skyline while flying in on a clear night was just like that picture, but much more massive behind what's visable there. It's all RIGHT on the water...kinda wild how that tiny island just floats around w/ that massive city weighing it down
9/22/2006 1:03:55 PM
^That is what I was about to say. Nothing compares to flying in at night.
9/22/2006 1:06:42 PM
How could you forget! We flew in over Vegas this past Saturday night and my jaw dropped to the floor. Never have I seen such a beautiful city that GOES ON FOREVER. It seemed the lights just stretched on as far as you could see in every direction, and then we flew over the strip...damn. just one of those things you gotta do before you die. and i really want to see honalulu at night too now[Edited on September 22, 2006 at 1:20 PM. Reason : ef]
9/22/2006 1:17:19 PM
VEGAS BABY!And that is a fair listing of the city populations, nobody is going by Metro Areas
9/22/2006 1:22:02 PM
9/22/2006 1:27:02 PM
smheath, does this picture make you ANGRY???
9/22/2006 2:05:20 PM
To be fair, the Sears Tower dwarfs most of the buildings in Chicago too.
9/22/2006 2:24:08 PM
9/22/2006 2:44:50 PM
Rosslyn--DC's other skyline. not the best pic though. [Edited on September 22, 2006 at 3:04 PM. Reason : .]
9/22/2006 2:57:49 PM
haha the Wichita skyline is joke. I live about 30 minutes from there and it is much worse than that picture indicates. Raleigh's downtown area pwns Wichita's downtown. Also Tulsa is dirty...
9/22/2006 3:40:33 PM
isnt rosslyn arlington?those populations are so messed up because of city limits. miamis actual city limits are just the center of "miami". it is very small and like if inside the beltline was "raleigh"i would think mini is the same way
9/22/2006 6:10:01 PM
Raleigh's skyline will get there. A lot of people who talk shit about it tend to forget that there was a height restriction in place up until a few years ago.
9/22/2006 6:20:54 PM
who really cares about this stuff? why does it really matter?
9/22/2006 6:24:19 PM
^ It's pretty.
9/22/2006 6:31:58 PM
^x4
9/22/2006 6:34:22 PM
well i know its on virginia side. its not technically "dc"
9/22/2006 6:41:47 PM
I was talking about the "mini" thing.
9/22/2006 7:03:46 PM
atl, pop 416474
9/22/2006 7:40:21 PM
whoa...omaha's skyline reminds me of ours for some reason?
9/22/2006 8:19:57 PM
im retarded[Edited on September 23, 2006 at 1:23 AM. Reason : just edited out a very retarded post thinking i was king of retarded but revealed true retradaation]
9/23/2006 1:22:06 AM
you can't judge from those awful pictures. The answer is st. louis, though
9/23/2006 1:24:16 AM
9/23/2006 1:41:53 AM
We say our skyline is shit because it doesn't exist.
9/23/2006 1:48:20 AM
we have a decent skyline
9/23/2006 1:51:12 AM
^^haha 10/10
9/23/2006 1:51:39 AM
What the fuck did I tell about replying to my shit man?
9/23/2006 2:04:15 AM
I'm digging Charlotte's more and more. Why no comparison of it on there?
9/23/2006 10:39:49 AM
Is that a crooked building in the Miama skyline? (All the way to the left.)
9/23/2006 11:00:30 AM
^^ there is, it was
9/23/2006 11:03:59 AM
charlotte is also on solid bedrock being in the foothills. that makes it cheaper to build skyscrapers. raleigh is on a soft clay/coastal plain mixture. winston salem is on a hard clay/bedrock mixture and greensboro is on solid clay. that makes it cheaper for all of those cities to build skyscrapers.
9/23/2006 11:11:04 AM
dammit, i love St. Louis
9/23/2006 11:21:55 AM
probably some x's
