SINGED OFFhahah i made this website for this friend a while back, she runs a restaurant or whatever. anyways she dont speak good english!!1 so im taking care of one of the feedback emails for her.this guy got "burned" by the oil supposedly from one of the chefs that cooks at the tables. he wants69.50 for ABERCROMBIE/FITCH SHIRT (SOME SPECIFIC LOGO CRAP)4.87 SALES TAX8.95 SHIPPING-----83.32plus 116.68 for "pain, suffering, and aggravation"... grand total 200 even he then proceeds to tell her she can settle up for (4) 50 dollar gift certificates to equal 200 bucks. so he cabn "give them out as gifts to friends". man.....
9/19/2006 7:58:20 PM
give him an extra $10 and have him mail the "burned" shirt to you/her.
9/19/2006 8:03:25 PM
hahaha im just gonna write something that says "ok sorry" and give it back to her to mail. the copy she gave me of what she had so far"we accept your request for the damages that accused on 9/10/06"]
9/19/2006 8:12:57 PM
haha... yea write her a better note.. she is much better off paying hte measily 200 bucks and not getting in trouble in her bus. and plus word of mouth for a eating place can be deadly... small price to pay
9/19/2006 8:27:10 PM
plus its not even really $200, since it is $200 in restaurant credit...
9/19/2006 8:30:40 PM
yeah if it were my place i'd totally pay itIF i didnt have a letter right here that pretty much said:accidents happen and i appreciate you offering me immediate medical attention (i dont think i mentioned that, when it went down apparantly she offered to take him to the ER). im fine lol and im still gonna eat there every week like i do..... but can i get some GCs for my friends plz.but he's gonna get his money, i just thought you guys might appreciate the douchery of this man with the burned abercrombie gear
9/19/2006 8:43:08 PM
where are teh pictures and proof of pain and sufferingdid he got the doctor
9/19/2006 8:44:05 PM
what are you talking about? jackleg, unless i misunderstand the guy in the nicest way possible went i believe i should be awarded some compensation, met you half way... and this could potentialy be a lot worse, remember mcd's and coffee? either way he is a douchebag for suing, but he did get burned and he isnt being an ass about it.... your friend lucked out. probably got a loyal customer out of it
9/19/2006 8:52:23 PM
Sadly, if he suffered injuries in the restaurant as a customer, he could probably get a whole lot more than what he is asking. Probably a significant amount.I guess it really all depends on what a reasonable person might expect at this type of establishment.
9/19/2006 8:55:22 PM
i realize he could have sued. that is also a douchebag thing too. the right thing to do would be to ask to have the shirt replaced. and not equal out the pain and suffering so the amount rounds up to 200. thats just silly shit.but im not trying to have that debate
9/19/2006 9:06:32 PM
i wouldn't patron that resturant anymore if i were him. there is no telling what they'd put in the food.
9/19/2006 9:11:16 PM
hahah do what
9/19/2006 9:11:52 PM
man gets burnedresturant tries to helpman says no, its okman later says, buy me a shirt and give me money (or i sue)resturant pays outman comes in for foodresturant remembers manresturant fucks with his foodman eats his foodresturant laughs their ass off at him.
9/19/2006 9:14:11 PM
ahhh i didnt need the whole explaination but i do get it now!they wouldnt fuck with him. they're good folks... like the kind of good folks that get taken advantage of, and i really hate seeing it. thats probably why i get so bent out of shape about stuff like this.
9/19/2006 9:38:24 PM
Do you believe he was actually burned in the restaurant? Because there are people out there that send this type of thing like spam to thousands of restaurants just hoping to get a little money from a lot of businesses.
9/19/2006 9:47:37 PM
yeah i think its legit. it talks about when he spoke with her that night, and i dont think she would have given me the letter if she didnt know who it was.
9/19/2006 9:49:06 PM
call his bluff...if he wastes the time and money on a lawyer all over 200 compensation he is an idiot
9/20/2006 12:09:11 AM
i would have the restaraunts lawyer handle it actually, because by saying "yeah we fucked up, here's some money" doesn't, in any legal way, exclude the restaraunt from being sued down the road laterif this guy is fucked up enough to make ridiculous demands now, who's to say he'll stop later?
9/20/2006 2:17:18 AM
^True. I think paying the GC's out would actually be admitting to the accused negligence.

9/20/2006 5:37:20 PM
it sucks that we live in such a litigious society
9/20/2006 6:39:02 PM
it just really sucks that nice people get taken advantage of like this. apparantly the lady offered to pay for the guy to go to the ER... like genuinely concerned whether or not he was okand you know, to some people, thats an invitation to start the scam up im just glad its only 200 bucks worth of free food. i feel ok laughing at it
9/21/2006 7:48:42 AM
$200 CASH sounds like a pretty fair compensation for burning a customer, ruining his shirt and his evening. You cant buy a new shirt with GCs.[Edited on September 21, 2006 at 8:10 AM. Reason : .]
9/21/2006 8:09:39 AM
^the customer suggests the $200 in GC
