^ yeah I'd just go ahead and buy, then if you don't want to move them you can sell them - w/d under 2 years old I think would fetch at least 1/2 what you paid.

I'm fairly certain that renting will not be the best option financially, but the premium is well worth not having to deal with selling a cheap W/D set when I'm trying to move.

I'm in Fayetteville. I don't even want to imagine selling something like that here.

I'm thinking more along the lines of "will they screw me."

Those rent a center places are made for people with bad/no credit. They are probably beneficial if you only need something for a month or two.

When my wife and I were moving around a lot, we used rent a center, because we didnt want to buy furniture that could possibly not fit in the next place we ended up, or in the home we eventually purchased.

While it is decently expensive, the people there are really nice and delivered/took away the stuff for free when we asked, no contracts or anything.

Just like any other store, it has its uses depending on where you are in your life.

Also, at any point during your rental, you can purchase the piece for 50% of the remaining balance. The initial balance is approximately 210% of the purchase price if you were to buy it somewhere else.

I looked into W?D at Rent-A-Center and I believe that in NC there is no rent with option to buy... but check into it because that would certainly be an easy way to go

yeah i dont know why anyone would consider that. you can get a set of used w/d for 50-100 or a new set for 600 or less...with both of these options you can resell. no sense in renting something like that.

only way it would be good is if you know its only going to be for a month or less. after that and youre just throwing $ away.

You can get them from Goodwill re-stores (or whatever they're called). Like $50 - $75 a piece. They're not the greatest in the world, but they get the job done.

My old apartment complex was willing to rent me one for $35/mo on top of my rent. You might want to ask them.
