Looking for some new tires for my '99 Tahoe. I'm currently running 265s, and wanted to go bigger to a 285, which presents a limited amount of options. I've had BFG ATs before, and am interested in going with another brand.

Anyone have thoughts on the Geolandar A/T - S tires? They appear to be a newer model, with not much information available yet as far as reviews go.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

thumbs down.. had them on my last jeep not so much a fan

so far bridgestone a/t s and goodyear mtrs are the best tires i've had all around


mine were an older rendition though.


ohh & i didn't like them because they clogged w/ mud easily off road, were noisey on road and didn't have great traction on wet or dry asphalt.

Thanks for the thoughts. I was told by a tire dealer that these were released this fall, so I'm not sure if we're talking about the same model. I've had the LTX's as well, and loved them. The cost is my main consideration at this point.

The M/Ts are definitely a tight tire. Good to hear that they perform well. As I mentioned, the model I'm looking at is the AT-S....not to be confused with the AT +II. The AT-S appear to be a bit more rugged AT tire, as opposed to the AT+II. Here's what they look like...any comments would be welcome.

did you look on tirerack.com for ratings? they usually have a bunch of ratings...and the yoko geolanders usually get great reviews.

Good suggestion on the Tirerack.com reviews. However, these tires being relativley new to the market (from what I'm told), there aren't any reviews for them yet. Thanks though!

in my opinion the best damn tire there is for on-road mileage, decent of road performance, and quiet running, i have run them on several trucks and they get insane mileage, 52k on the ones i have now, and still plenty of tread left

Just throwin it out there look into nitto terra's, they're relatively cheap for a larger A/T tire, and they're pretty durable/ longlasting. However once they wear down (40,000+ miles w/ hard driving for me) they'll sing pretty loud on the highway. I had Michelin's before that and they were so friggin quiet, only reason I didnt get them is because I didnt have too much $texas at the time, and they didnt have anything bigger than 31", when I was lookin to get a bigger tire.

got them on my pathfinder, good street tire. dunno how it is on anything else. rain traction is fine.
