My ex-boyfriend is coming to the US and I'm trying to figure out where he should spend 4-5 days on the east coast. He wants to see New Orleans, but I don't know what condition it's in.

Where else should he go if not?

why would anyone want to go to new orleans. french quarter is still htere but it border line sucked before the storm. now its half ass and its so dangerous there the military police are patrolling the streets. i would rather go to goldsboro

I was there in June, and there's plenty to do and see...

There are a lot of places that have been damn near totally recovered, but they're limited to more affluent areas. We stayed in the Garden District (on St. Charles) and hit the Quarter for a night, and both were just fine.

The poorer sections of the city are the ones where shit is still fucked up. You will see it here and there.

But still plenty fine shape to go.

I went at the end of July for a day and liked it a lot (my first time there, really want to go back when I can spend some more time there). We mostly stuck to the French Quarter though.

My cousin lives in New Orleans (while he goes to Tulane) and he said the place is fine. I wouldn't suggest you go live there in the ghetto yet, but if you want to tour some of the famous stuff, most of it is alive and well.
