Going to be in Denver at 9:00am tomorrow and will not be able to head out of ther until sometime around 1pm. Friend arrives at 12:45pm so we just have to mess around till then.

Does anone have any suggestions of places to go in the metro area?

I dont know exactly where it is but I ate at the best resturant ever while in Denver. It sounded like a retarded idea when I first heard of the resturant. It's a grilled cheese place. They sell soup and grilled cheese and that's it. BUT the sandwhiches they sell are totally awesome because they have all kinds of gormet cheese and you can put basically anything on the sandwhich.

I hate to be the one to have to tell you that the airport is NOT anywhere close to downtown. It will take at least 30-40 minutes each way.

Besides the obvious drive up into the mountains, go see Red Rocks, etc., some surprisingly fun things to do in Denver:
AWESOME dinosaur bones collection in the life and science museum.
Larimer Square downtown or Lodo for night life.
And Denver has a great zoo. much better than the NC zoo. Call me a dork if you want. I'm used to it.
