I've been playing all the old Sierra and LucasArts adventure games. It takes a little tweaking but you can run almost any DOS-based game perfectly. Who else has discovered this bastion of IBM PC gaming nostalgia?

Kinda old, but DOSBox works 99.9% correctly. There are still quirks here and there that need to be worked out that normally wouldn't be an issue if I played the game with an a true DOS box.

What I'd personally like to see in the future, once bandwidth and storage space aren't an issue, is a Good Set of the Dos Games.

I played Ultima: the Stygean Abyss on it. Had to dl a couple of patches, but it was a thing of beauty in the end.

One problem I have in DOSBox that I have not been able to fix....

When I run it in fullscreen mode, the display is off center. Usually not enough to make any games unplayable, but just enough to be annoying. About half an inch too high and a quarter of an inch to the side. It is not a monitor issue unless DOS had problems with flat-panel LCDs, or Samsung. I've noticed some questionable positioning in the screens before the Windows GUI itself boots up. It is a mystery.

check your BIOS/video drivers for an option to turn on scaling for LCDs. or upgrade your video drivers.

How would I check the BIOS for scaling?

when it boots up it should say to press some key to enter the BIOS, or setup... press that key and look around for an option that says something about scaling or stretching the display for LCDs. it's kind of a long shot for a desktop system but if you are using a recent laptop it's almost certainly in there somewhere.
