this really hurts the b-ball team's chancesbut best of luck to him. i can't wait to buy his rookie card in a few years
9/15/2006 10:32:24 AM
it's been reported before, i'm not buying it until there is an official announcement from lowe or brackman[Edited on September 15, 2006 at 10:33 AM. Reason : eh]

next development:Lowe demands another year extention on his contract.we're dead in the water this year, and probably at least a few years to come.
9/15/2006 10:34:47 AM
good. I think this is best for both teams. Not that he wouldn't help...I'd almost rather Lowe rebuild with new(er) players.I think Gavin Grant will make a smooth transision to Lowe along with Fells, Costner, etc.I really was thinking Brackman and Atsur may struggle to play in Sid's system. I could be wrong but I'm glad he made the decision plenty early so we can move on.

The decline of NC State Athletics...
9/15/2006 10:35:25 AM

it's not that our starting line up will be god awful, we just don't have any depth. On the bright side, it could set Grant up to be in the running for ACC player of the year if he puts the team on his back.....he could have some big #'s.

HAHAHAROFL
9/15/2006 10:43:01 AM
you peopleare forgetting that gavin grant doesnt know how to dribble. other than that he's a good basketball player.

9/15/2006 10:46:15 AM
Good for Brackman. He made the right choice. We will be lucky to win 4 ACC games next year.
9/15/2006 10:55:55 AM
he coulda been a starter in the center in the paint, now its goofy freshmen and ben mccauley
9/15/2006 10:57:16 AM
not such a bad thing
9/15/2006 10:58:55 AM
as someone who goes to baseball games as well, i'm glad to hear it. he played like shit last year and our basketball team is going to struggle either way, get mccauley some playing time.
9/15/2006 11:01:13 AM
brackman played like shit last year? i don't think so

^ He wasn't "good."

my statement was laced with could's and if's, not to mention the key words in the running. Hansbro is going to win it, but after that its wide open. Grant will probably be one of the focal points of the off (we don't have many other options). Plus he showed a spark @ the end of the season last year, scoring in double digits 4 of the last 5 games. We're going to be terrible, no doubt, but someone is going have to be the go to guy, and if Grant steps up like he started to @ the end of last year he could end up scoring a large chunk of the team's total pts, b/c he'll get a lot of touches. Plus, the starters are going to be playing big minutes. He'll never actually win it, b/c being on a good team is a big part of the decision, but he could have some big #'s.
9/15/2006 11:09:05 AM
Doesn't matter...HansBro will win the Heisman!

McCauley has the potential to be a good offensive player in the post. His footwork last year amazed me when he posted up...the only problem was getting the ball in the basket once he got there. That's something he can fix, though.Defensively, he'll never have the size and range that Ced offered as a shotblocker. We will be pretty shallow up front, though. Costner, McCauley, and Horner are it, unless Lewandowski picks up garbage minutes just to rest them.
9/15/2006 11:47:59 AM
i mean seriously what person with any common sense would have thought he would play basketball this year
9/15/2006 12:03:12 PM
Called this like 5 months ago. Once he started hitting the upper 90's in the Cape Cod league, there was no way he coming back for bball.Next year is going to be DISMAL.

This is all part of the pain of a coaching transition. No one should be surprised by the fact that we'll have a few rebuilding years.

Brackman is a tool, I'm happy with this.
9/16/2006 9:58:33 PM
/sarcasm PLEASEWithout him we are totally screwed down low. Brack can still be one of the top shot blockers in the league, plus he can HUSTLE
9/16/2006 10:25:08 PM
^thats a joke right? Did you follow last season?
9/16/2006 10:33:03 PM
