I'm not looking to start some Fight Club or something. I thought the movie sucked too, btw. I thought it would be neat if there were gyms or something where you could go and just fight each other. Like, if there was a guy you didn't like and just needed to beat down, that you could do it in a controlled environment where no one had to fear getting arrested. They'd settle it in a ring and that would be that. I figure this would seem more appealing to high schoolers and that a controlled fighting environment would stop fights at school (who wants to fight AND get suspended/expelled).So would something like this be legal? I could see some hardcore ex marine or police officer overseeing all these things to make sure things stayed in order. Minors would have to get permission and all parties would have to sign a waiver and such.

Sure, it's legal. Laws are against disorderly conduct on the streets and in public spaces and such.In event of a random brawl, I don't think any assault charges can get filed unless someone actually says he/she was assaulted—otherwise, they can get in trouble (fined, basically) for disturbing the peace, and that's about it.

if people are fighting in public, with no party in the fight being a 'victim', then everyone gets charged w/ "affray" - by citation/release or physical arrest - and everyone goes to court

Some of you guys have obviously forgotten the first and second rules of fight club.

this is a great idea -- mouth guards mandatory though -- even after a good brawl - still gotta show up for work at 8am

Doesn't one party have to press charges against the other in a fight? Or do the cops just take them in. If so, I would think all you have to do is make them sign something saying they agreed to fight, blah, blah...

fighting in a controlled enviroment may be great but nothing is as good as real world experience. It's better when you don't have to sign a waiver or have anyone making sure you don't get hurt too bad. get in a real fight and see if you can tap out.

Somebody always thinks about doing this every year, they have one meeting and then are like "It hurts." Then never do it again.

Some of the Garage guys did it earlier this year. It looked like alot of fun based of their pics/videos.I got an idea.. If ya'll get Amato and Stone to come, maybe the rest will follow to beat up on them.
