based on what i read, things will get worked out somehow.i understand the mexican authorities were ticked off, but i can't imagine the PR move for them if they throw a person in prison for aiding in the capture of a rapist.technically they are within their rights, but it looks really bad for them.
9/14/2006 8:27:41 PM
whatever. that guy is a hack. let him rot in jail
9/14/2006 8:38:50 PM

Considering that Mexico has one of the most corrupt and violent criminal justice systems in the world, I am mortified that some idiot judge signed the extradition order.[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 9:29 PM. Reason : .]

gotta love how much influence mexico has over the US1. maxfactor guy commits violent crime in the US2. maxfactor guy, a US Citizen, flees to mexico3. mexico refuses to apprehend and extradite hime4. dog goes and gets him, turns him over to US justice system5. mexico gets pissy b/c someone actually did something about the problem and didn't pay any of their 'officials' off before taking action6. mexico demands, and apparently receives, assistance to order the US to apprehend a US citizen and deport him for 'mexican justice' (no such thing)another example of how the tail wags the dog on the southern border

i can promise you it (US CJ System) is flawed, and very much imperfect. it does not always find justice, and many many many guilty people walk out to continue to victimize innocent citizens b/c the burden of proof is 'beyond a reasonable doubt' (where it should be, but a misunderstood level of proof). The jury system doesn't work very well in this modern world (expectations unrealistic, 'peers' dont have time, lawyers looking for an academy award - not justice). The whole cj system is completely overwhelmed, and there are literally millions of outstanding warrants/orders for arrest that will never be served. Take away plea bargains (bullshit) and the entire system would come to a dead stop in about 15 minutes.-but-it is a HELL of a lot better than the CJ system that exists in *most* countries.think about it, mexico should be on par w/ the standard of living in the US and Canada - but they are clearly a 3rd world country (leave the tourist traps). Why? It sure isn't because the people are lazy or lack ingenuity. It sure isn't b/c they don't have access to the market. They lack a government that cares about them. They have a government that rapes them mercilessly... and for some reason the US is all too happy to send 'aid' to that gov't to keep the status quo.I hope to hell that dog doesn't get sent over. The only way i'd buy into it is if Mexico had a real extradition treaty w/ the US. As it stands, Mexico will not extradite anyone that faces the death penalty in the US - and wont extradite most Mexican nationals (though they will encourage, train, assist, and otherwise protect anyone who wants to break our immigration laws and sneek in)

Yes I am a jingoist because I mock Mexico's lack of a stable criminal procedure.
9/15/2006 1:58:43 AM
What makes you think the us system is better than the mexican system?and don't try to pull some law and order bullshit, because as it currently stands the american justice system is bloated.
9/15/2006 2:01:40 AM
what actual real world experience do you have w/ the US CJ system? Mexican CJ system?100 years isn't enough to recover? w/ the current gov't, give them a 1000 and it won't change. near as I can tell, you want all humans on the same playing field and everyone to start life w/ the same exact resources? I cant join your world to carry on the debate.... i don't believe in unicorns or the magic kingdom. enjoy.

We could send another Bounty Hunter down to Mexico to free him, but then we'd have to worry about that Bounty Hunter being captured. This could never end

fuck it,was going to say something on this topic[Edited on September 15, 2006 at 6:53 AM. Reason : .]
9/15/2006 6:53:31 AM
why did it take 3 years to extradite?looks like dog or someone he knows will have to pay some sort of penalty to be freed, thus paying off whoever didn't get the money the first go round.
9/15/2006 7:34:01 AM
did anyone actually read the article? HE IS NOT IN MEXICO, DURRRRRRRR.
9/15/2006 7:45:38 AM
warning. wordy post ahead.. if you dont wanna read it, the summary is that mexico is lawless and they need to worry about their own problems instead of DOG catching an american rapist that they were harboring.ok so i went to cozumel, mexico back in march.... it seemed like a pretty nice place (kinda destroyed in parts by hurricane wilma but that was to be expected). it wasnt like the dirty, lawless mexico that i had imagined (hoped for haha). so i assumed that everyone had lied to me about mexico. worst thing i saw going on was a lot of free drinks being offered.then a couple months later when i lived in tucson, i drove down to the REAL mexico. actually, i have no idea if it was real since it was a border town, but i'm gonna assume that its closer to how mexico is than the nicer touristy areas. nogales, mexico (where i went) is fucking disgusting and lawless. $10 grams of cocaine EVERYWHERE (for those of you who dont know, they are usually $50-$60 in NC from what ive always heard), dudes selling women EVERYWHERE.. you can put COUG on your mastercard... "pharmacists" standing at the door of their shops screaming out "I GOT WHATEVER YOU NEED HOMEY" - (in cozumel they actually had signs listing the few legal things they would sell, nogales was the opposite). and the bouncers at the strip/cocaine/drug clubs were shaking hands with every cop that walked by. crazy shit. and thats just what i remember off the top of my headdamn i typed a lot. what i'm saying is that mexico has no right to fuck with dog chapman, especially if the guy he arrested wasnt even mexican. mexico has their own shit they need to worry about. here is an article about crime in the town near tucson (nogales) that i went to. its a pretty good read if you have time: http://www.zreportage.com/mexico.shtml]

The issue here is a pride war. Throw in a brash guy like dog and his ghetto-tastic wife who tromp in your country and take something... that's what got themIt's not that the guy they were getting doesn't deserve to burn. He's a rapist. Everyone knows he's a rapist, it's not any argument about it. This who things is a child like fight about "he took my toy after he fell over to my part of the sandbox".
9/15/2006 8:24:54 AM
yeah i hear that. its just ridiculous that they are playing this out in the media. i was talking to someone last night about this, and she said she was seriously sad about dog the bounty hunter being in jail. i think its crazy, but its wild that people are getting so emotional over someone they dont know. i was thinking it was due to the reality tv thing... but its like that with all celebrities. guess reality tv is just changing the limits of what qualifies as celebrity
9/15/2006 8:38:00 AM
all i know is that dog's show is so god damn cheesy that i cant make it through an entire episode.
9/15/2006 8:40:07 AM
i like it. just cause his wifes tits are SO FUCKING RIDICULOUS. actually i watch A&E a lot so it happens to be on... but i do watch it when it's on. i like seeing what the people were charged with, and what their bond is... and what their home looks like. all the jesus talk in between, i could do without.
9/15/2006 8:44:04 AM
i too like A&E, but i turn the channel when his cheese block of a show comes on.
9/15/2006 8:47:47 AM
i actually pull up the hawaii courts website and look the people up and see what happened to them
9/15/2006 8:51:11 AM
does mexico have a website like that? maybe dog will be on it.
9/15/2006 8:52:06 AM
aaahahahaha
9/15/2006 8:52:24 AM
I just read where the final decision whether or not to extradite them will be made by Condoleeza Rice... The Bush administration doesn't need any more bad pub...they will let them slide.
9/15/2006 9:12:14 AM
ahahaquick questions for all the people out there who pay attentionwhat is c. rice's position? AND... is it a pretty normal move to defer something liek this to her?
9/15/2006 9:14:55 AM
apparently commenting on the well known corruption of mexican govt/justice system is akin to claiming the US is perfect.what a brilliant basis to form your arguments nutlickr

yeah, i guess i have aligned myself with some pretty shitty/lazy people over the years... due to the kind of life i was living, probablyactually one of the people im talking about... a dude with super rich parents, ripped me off for almost 1000 bucks (the real reason i left arizona). all he had to do was call his mommy for money, but instead he decided to rip me off for most of what i had... when i was 2000 miles from anyone else i knew. hell, it turned out that the cocksucker even used my mastercard to put gas in his car when i wasnt paying attention - and his momma would have given him his own damn card, and i was working for my money... thats the shitty part hahaha. thats pretty much the mindset of most of the born-rich people that i know. but i guess there are tons of good ones too that work hard.so yeah hopefully ill be making better decisions about the type of person i associate with now that ive changed some things about my lifestyle ]
9/15/2006 10:12:26 AM
9/15/2006 10:15:47 AM
yeah man. i drove out there with like 500 bucks in cash and a creditcard.. cause i was so desperate to get the fuck away from all the drama in raleigh (and i think he knew this and had planned on taking my money). anyways, thankfully, i never had to live off the card like i was prepared to, cause i got a job within a couple days of getting there. but it turned out that he was taking my credit card out of my wallet at night and filling up his car... and i gave him a bunch of money for bills after i got a couple paychecks out there, and he threw me out as soon as the check cleared. like threatening to call cops and shit. total pussy. kid turned out to be a total piece of shit. so i stayed at a motel out there till my last paycheck came in, then i cashed it and left arizona. wild shit. luckily for everyone, it all worked out ok.]
