http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/14/microsoft-launches-the-zune/Brown was a bad color choice, and if they're ONLY coming in 30GB, well, wtf is up w/ that?I dig the widescreen though, and the WiFi tidbit is very cool.I'll still take the iPod (whenever it goes widescreen-touchscreen), though.[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 12:32 PM. 9/14/2006 12:36:48 PM

9/14/2006 12:41:45 PM
^^ Today is the launch, dumbass.Brown: never saw that coming. I guess the "shit" puns can commence...[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 12:47 PM. Reason : .]
9/14/2006 12:46:03 PM
lol
9/14/2006 12:47:41 PM
i actually like the brown. plus maybe fewer idiots would ask "which ipod is that?"i'll wait for dimensions, and price before making a real prediction. and they should have a size larger than 30gb.
9/14/2006 12:50:05 PM
^^^Oh yeah. It launches today huh? Where can I buy one? How much does it cost? Until I can go down to a store and look at one it's all just more speculation. And it's hardly worth calling someone a dumbass over.
9/14/2006 12:52:17 PM
So let me get this straight. You make a thread about the latest iPod offering and that's all cool and !!!1But linking to a post about the specifics of a completely new player that no one really knows terribly much about, is ?Gotcha[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 1:10 PM. Reason : .]

From the link he posted:
9/14/2006 1:14:29 PM
he hardly jumped on your nuts. and in the case of that other thread, he was correct, it was a week old news. the news of today's launch is hardly old.
9/14/2006 1:22:52 PM
In all seriousness, why are they saying it launches today? Are they having a conference later today to announce pricing and availability? Will it be available for purchase on a website somewhere later today? Will it be shipping to stores to be sold later this week? This is a genuine question.
9/14/2006 1:26:18 PM
Highlighting an article doesn't change the fact that the launch was today. You lose sir.
9/14/2006 1:26:54 PM
I lose huh? Give me one bit of information that we have right now that we didn't have today before this monumental "launch day".]

I didn't know there was a brown one or that today was launch day.
9/14/2006 1:36:48 PM
Just from the inside (seriously), Engadget landed an exclusive interview w/ Microsoft's corporate VP about the ZuneIt'll hit the Engadget front page later today. Book it.

A product launch doesn't necessarily mean that the product is shipping to end users.A product launch can mean that the company is officially revealing the product to the world. There are actually several launches in any products lifespan, of which the end user is aware of about two.
9/14/2006 1:47:42 PM
So I was correct is saying that this is very old news. Thanks for the confirmation.
9/14/2006 1:48:44 PM
No you're actually not correct at all.The launch happened today and the official specs are being released. Since this hasn't happened prior, then it is "new."
9/14/2006 1:52:00 PM
I think El Nacho has run out of nachos, that's why he is fuming at nothing. The official pics were released today; what is so hard to understand about that?
9/14/2006 1:56:49 PM
Where are these specs exactly? Cause maybe then we'll actually have something that's not old.Until then...
9/14/2006 1:57:41 PM
Maybe if we get Steve Jobs to hold it up he'll be more interested in it!
9/14/2006 1:58:34 PM
IN THE FUCKING LINK ABOVE.AND WAY TO IGNORE THE PICS, JUST LIKE YOU IGNORED MY KEY WORDS BEFORE THE NUMBERS IN THE OTHER THREAD.You really have to learn to look at everything.

You've yet to say how I've been stupid. My entire argument is that there is no new information that we know today that we didn't know yesterday and the best thing you can come up with to counter it is some mock pictures of the UI, and the fact that it will be available in brown.EVERYTHING besides that we knew already.
9/14/2006 2:06:49 PM
9/14/2006 2:10:58 PM
9/14/2006 2:14:24 PM
so confirmation of the speculation couldn't have gone in one of the existing threads on the Zune?]
9/14/2006 2:19:48 PM
maybe some new stuff:http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/14/the-engadget-interview-j-allard-microsoft-corporate-vice-presi/
9/14/2006 2:25:20 PM
it's MS product you can't CTL-ALT-DEL on? stay away from that turd
9/14/2006 2:34:31 PM
^^ Ahahaha, there was an apple add at the bottom of the page when I loaded it.[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 2:35 PM. Reason : ]
9/14/2006 2:35:01 PM
lol the Apple ads on the Microsoft writeups are hilariousjust FYI, I feel the site is licking the balls of the Zune a tad too much, but it'll calm down once the launch is outI think they're going all out on it just for traffic reasons
9/14/2006 2:36:58 PM
I liked a lot of what the corporate VP said, but it's pretty gay that it doesn't support PlaysForSure.Looks like I'll be holding onto my Sansa.
9/14/2006 2:38:23 PM
looks badass...and i love the menu (with the images for a BG)oh btw...the software/music store for it...is that like iTunes or is it like Napster?i.e. pay per song or pay per month for unlimited.[Edited on September 14, 2006 at 2:42 PM. Reason : fda]
9/14/2006 2:40:04 PM
If the specualation from months ago is correct () MS is planning on buying everyone with an itunes account away from apple. i.e. if you've bought a song on itunes, they'll give you credit for buying it from them on their store.
9/14/2006 2:45:29 PM
haha if thats true then microsoft owes me a lot of credits.
9/14/2006 2:49:28 PM
Their store will be its own entity I believe, like iTunes but from MicrosoftThe lack of PlaysForSure support is really retarded. The store will offer a la carte songs AND a "Zune Pass" that works like Napster's currently monthly fee to download unlimited tunes.
9/14/2006 2:50:55 PM
i wonder if the pass will work for TV shows too...cause that would be sweet
9/14/2006 2:54:21 PM
9/14/2006 2:54:44 PM
No ideas on if Zune Pass works w/ TV shows right now (I'd doubt it), but it somehow they could pull it off, it'd be MONEY.
9/14/2006 2:58:14 PM
Oh but wait guys, no need to talk about the SERVICE either because apparently we all knew they were going to launch these service options. OMG SO OLD.Nacho: You need to learn the difference between a hard launch and a soft launch. AKA nVidia/Apple product launches, versus ATI/Intel launches.
9/14/2006 4:14:21 PM
im still waiting on pricing and availabilityas long as it isnt much more than an ipod i want one
9/14/2006 4:49:33 PM
Apparently that thing that looks like the iPod wheel is not a wheel -- it is just 4 buttons. Talk about cheap expensive knockoffs.
9/14/2006 6:19:07 PM
THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE PICS
9/14/2006 6:41:50 PM
How does it navigate? IS that thing a wheel or d-pad like device? What frame rates/resolutions of those video formats does it play back? What other functions does it have?
