if your gpa drops then i guess you could lose it and become cum laude

Cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude are determined by your final GPA. This is why grade have to be in before graduation. It's not set in stone yet. Keep those grades up!

Your graduation programs will use your GPA as it stand the day they submit the order to have them printed. However, your transcript / diplomas will match what your final GPA is.

exactly, perlith. we print the book a week or so before grades are actually in. so the book will list whatever you were going into your final semeter. however, if your honor level change your diploma (and transcript) will state your official level - higher or lower.

during our graduation people's who's status changed opened up their folder expecting to see their degree, but instead got a "due to your change in honor status you will receive your diploma via mail" or something like that

yes. we do that because now diplomas are not printed on campus.

do they look at total gpa or just your major gpa for considering honors?
9/29/2006 7:43:53 AM
^ Total.

9/29/2006 5:35:10 PM
bump ... ^anyone know?
10/1/2006 2:30:07 AM
i'll find out on monday.
10/1/2006 9:35:25 AM
registration and records does not send out an e-mail confirming blue cards. however, each individual department might.however, i will send out a reminder in a few weeks about general graduation information.

we need to make these cards red. or at least a neutral white. but blue? sigh. the irony is in how much red tape you have to fight during your 4-5 years here just to get a "blue" card. maybe we can pressure r&r to change the color through a technician editorial and/or senate resolution?
