Congrats. Glad to see you got a foreign mission like you wanted.

Dec 6th? Does that mean you are cutting the semester short? I guess I assumed you were taking classes this semester. Might not be the case.

If you're in the area come on by the Cary 3rd (Spanish branch) meetings sometime (9:00am -12:00pm in the Cary building). It will give you a taste for what you are in for

You might try, I'm not sure how flexible it is. They have it all mapped out to where x number of missionaries leave a mission in month y and they try to replace them with as close a number to x as possible so there won't be shortages/surpluses.

Have fun and good luck. I've got the son of a family friend from my home ward that's coming back in Jan I believe. I'll never forget my freshman year at State when in my english class this guy sat next to me for the better half of the semester and we just hated each other--both stubborn, always had to be right, etc until we found out we were both LDS--then we got along great.

Just don't come back and get married and start having kids right away--take some time. I had a lot of my guy friends come back from their missions and try to pull me into that. I solved that by marrying a non member

^^Yeah, the strange thing about when I was out of the country for two years was that the culture shock of coming back home was far greater than the culture shock of going to a new country.

Word. Reminds me of the sprawl of Phoenix or Las Vegas.

I'm going to Mexico in Mid-January to climb Ixta, Nevado de Toluca, and Orizaba (18,500 ft!!). Should be fun as long as I don't die by getting HAPE or fall in a crevasse or something.
