i've noticed that all of these are sequels, movies are starting to get kind of gayexcept rocky 6...thats gonna rock
9/11/2006 5:12:17 PM
its a safe buck. if people would stop going to see sequels, there wouldnt be anymore.
9/11/2006 5:15:24 PM
well..this is totally different to be honest.so i am going to assume you were being sarcastic.and PS ive been waiting for a hobbit movie for a long time
9/11/2006 6:04:20 PM
this would fall more into the remake trend
9/11/2006 6:31:02 PM
i thought rocky balboa was gonna be christmasi don't wanna wait two more months
9/11/2006 6:38:08 PM
^^ no.there really was no REAL hobbit movie ever.and this is based off of a book that came out before the book trilogy. its not like the other movies where they saw "hey this movie did well lets make a prequel, sequel. we dont have a story written its ok we'll make something and ppl will come look"the story is already there
9/11/2006 6:40:18 PM
but it wouldnt be made if the trilogy bombed, so it is like a remake prequel to milk the already profitable movies (arguably somewhat like episode 1-3).[Edited on September 11, 2006 at 6:57 PM. Reason : though yeah, he coulda just wanted to do it cuz he wrote um, but lets be serious here]
9/11/2006 6:53:09 PM
once again. episodes 1-3 werent written before the first movies did so well.also they have wanted to and planned to make the hobbit since day 1 of working on the trilogy basically. but have had licensing issues since the rights to the hobbit as a movie were bought a LONG time ago. been in a somewhat sideshow legal battle for years. this isnt news that its getting made..just finally news that there might be some progress on the legal side its different

how will they make terminator 4 if arnold is busy being governor of california?

heh. yea as much as i loved the trilogy growing up and think they did a great job overall on the movies..id be more excited for the hobbit and i think that hte hobbit could do really really well.mainly because it is one story contained within itself. its simple yet fun. would appeal to a larger audience imo

well see you learn something new everyday. i was looking around for why he'd have done that if he didnt want to leave that kind of opportunity open (figured he was thinking on a big scale). thanks for the info.

i grew up on the hobbit. i still have nightmares thinking about the part where the goblins come out during the night and ambush everyone in the cave.i've always thought the hobbit is far better than the lord of the rings. not so much damn walking.
9/12/2006 9:29:12 AM
yea the hobbit is still my favorite book. i read it about once a year for fun. I know i get crap like 'that way my favorite book in like 5th grade' but there some things you just never outgrow like a good story.
9/12/2006 9:36:53 AM
^^dammit matt, that's not funny
