because we all give a shit about 9/11we would love to see another broadcast
9/7/2006 8:36:12 PM
I remember that news from 8:00am that morning, before everything happened. It was pretty boring, something about Itacha college. I want to see that coverage again.
9/7/2006 11:26:32 PM
it was the most drumatic action packed tv ive ever seen. isnt that what people look for in tv? and it was reality all in one.
9/7/2006 11:53:27 PM
9/7/2006 11:54:34 PM
hmm sounds like a conspiracy to get it fresh in the voters minds seriously though, WHY!?!?[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 11:55 PM. Reason : bork]
9/7/2006 11:55:20 PM
when this was on the news when it happened, my mom thought if my brother and i watched too much of it, we'd get PTSD. So we weren't allowed to watch the news for 2 weeks.
9/7/2006 11:56:01 PM
OMFG itaCHA. SELF-PWNTAGE!
9/7/2006 11:56:40 PM

post traumatic stress disorder.
9/8/2006 5:41:09 PM
Ha ha, I remember trying to go to cnn.com that day. Their site was flooded as well as all the other news sites. I had to watch my suitemate's tv to see what was going on. Then, I had to go to class and almost no one was there, so the prof took attendance anyway and we carried on as usual.
9/8/2006 10:24:12 PM
I will never forget...Dan Rather saying this has been an Orgasam of terror!I didn't quite understand it, but he said orgasm.
9/9/2006 6:12:27 AM
It'd be interesting to watch the beginning of the cover, since I've never really seen the clips of the very beginning.
9/9/2006 10:32:25 AM
i used to have the howard stern 9/11 mp3.it's so, because in the middle of some story about Pam Anderson, people start walking in and telling him whats going on, and BabaBooey interrupts. It gets progressively worse as the buildings fall.amazing radio.
9/9/2006 10:52:58 AM
i might stay up all night and then start watching this at 8:30you make it fun by taking a shot every time someone says "oh my god"
9/11/2006 12:42:41 AM
can someone record this? i have to work during the time it will be on.
9/11/2006 12:44:44 AM
wow....it's wierd watching this.
9/11/2006 8:31:35 AM
it is kinda wierd, i plan to watch for an hour
9/11/2006 8:39:31 AM
this is amazing to watch for the first time. i was in the car on the way to class when it happened
9/11/2006 8:56:04 AM
I am watching the CNN stream and they seem to be "missing" some footage. It keeps cutting to these blank screens. they should search the internet because I was able to download the first 167mins of their coverage with no cuts. It is beyond powerful. Totally reminds me just how small and helpless I felt that day. crazy.
9/11/2006 8:56:54 AM
was thinking it has to be for commercials that originally aired since they are trying to keep it all in real time
9/11/2006 9:02:57 AM
wow, it took them a few minutes to realize that a second plane had hit
9/11/2006 9:05:26 AM
BUFFERINGBUFFERINGBUFFERING
9/11/2006 9:06:35 AM
wow, they think that some kind of navigational error made both of them crash.when was the realization that it was terrorism?
9/11/2006 9:08:03 AM
GODDAMN BUFFERING
9/11/2006 9:08:36 AM
msnbc is doing the same thing on tv right now
9/11/2006 9:12:50 AM
damn, wish I would have taped this. have they been showing it in real time?as for the CNN coverage. The tape I have starts in the middle of a commercial (Ditech Mortgage) and they immediately go into the coverage. Some of the more interesting things from what I have watched:1) they totally missed the 2nd plane hitting. You see if fly in from the right of the screen, however from the view of the announcer at the time (from WABC, I think) and from a caller on the line, they think that the fuselage of the first plane has exploded. It takes almost a full minute for them to realize what's going on.2) Watching Aaron Brown as the first tower collapses. He has no idea that the entire building went down. Again, it was all about vantage point. He keeps talking about what is behind the smoke.
9/11/2006 9:29:22 AM
tower collapsedthey dont know yet because of smoke
9/11/2006 10:00:40 AM
Does anyone know where you can download all the content, as Xplosivo has mentioned?
9/11/2006 10:21:21 AM
The second tower collapses at 10:29, so tune in if you want to catch it.
9/11/2006 10:24:20 AM
I can't beleive they didn't see the second plane hit the second tower at the time.
9/11/2006 10:27:39 AM
They were zoomed in tight on the first tower which completely obscured the second at the time.
9/11/2006 10:31:15 AM
If you watch the CNN pipeline you can see the second plane fly in at 12:44 (part one). Just as it's about to hit the south tower they zoom into the north tower.
9/11/2006 10:39:55 AM
such a stark contrast between the NBC coverage and the CNN coverage. CNN seemed to be just throwing any and everything on the air without regard to whether or not it was true (fire on the national mall, car bomb at the state dept, etc.) and NBC has only reported facts. Through this point, NBC hasn't really reported anything that wasn't true with the exception of a possible bomb at the pentagon. However, that was reported by Jim Mielshevsky (sp?) who was in the E-Ring of the building on the opposite side and just reported that he felt it. CNN's coverage would definately cause more of a sense of panic.scratch that, they just reported the car bomb on the nbc coverage (I am about 20mins behind real-time on that coverage)[Edited on September 11, 2006 at 10:45 AM. Reason : fear mongering]
9/11/2006 10:42:08 AM
i was on my way to work this morning at about the time the towers fell. i pass a fire station on my way out of my neighborhood. the firemen were all standing at attention in a line in front of their trucks and there were two little old ladies standing with them, holding little american flags. it made me
9/11/2006 10:45:28 AM
Just crazy to watch this. TWO planes hit the towers within 20 min. and they STILL thought it was navigational error. Can you imagine if even a tiny propellor plane hit a building now? Terrorism would be the first word out of anyone's mouth.
9/11/2006 10:56:58 AM
Is there (or will there be) a link to d/load this stuff in full?I doubt it but what the hoo
9/11/2006 11:10:07 AM
you can find some of this stuff online now. There is a copy of the first 2 1/2 hrs of the CNN coverage posted on Usenet right now. (hit tech talk if you need to know how to use this)As for Audio, you can get a couple of good ones:WCBS 880am - http://podcast.wcbs880.com/wcbs/23369.mp31010 WINS - http://rapidshare.de/files/28830083/1010_Wins_From_September_11th__2001.mp3.htmlI would imagine that the NBC coverage will show up in the next day or so considering they are replaying it. (and, btw, Tom Brokaw has slipped into insanity in the last 20mins of the NBC coverage as he keeps talking about a declaration of War on the US. Matt and Katie are keeping their cool though. Easy to see why she got the anchor gig at CBS.)
9/11/2006 11:22:59 AM
whats wrong with the guys dome on msnbc?
9/11/2006 11:40:51 AM
it was dust from the building. Obviously they told him not to wipe it off his head (which he could have easily have done)
9/11/2006 12:00:21 PM
9/11/2006 12:24:29 PM
I'd be more interested in hearing a radio broadcast from 12/7/41, but thats just me, i like old radio.
9/11/2006 12:32:42 PM
FDR's speach: http://www.historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5166/not really the same, but still...
9/11/2006 12:40:17 PM
I really appreciate that CNN rebroadcasted this.At the time and for the following several years I never really digested these incidents. I believe rewatching the broadcast today helped me digest it more.
9/11/2006 4:27:59 PM
is there anywhere i can watch this now that i'm off of work?
9/11/2006 4:47:27 PM
ON THE FUCKING INTERNET SMATH
9/11/2006 5:02:40 PM
9/11/2006 5:06:47 PM
BT, I was trying to find some of the info on downloading the 2.5 hour video on Usenet, but my Tech Talk search came up empty for 9/11, Usenet, or CNN. Can you point me in a more specific direction? Thanks!
9/11/2006 7:39:03 PM
who else can hardly bear to watch this? i'm overcome with emotion, mostly anger!
