soccer may not be huge to you people here at ncsu, but to unc soccer is like one sport they think they should be amazing every year, men and womens...so that plus them being #1 was pretty big...i can only assume that red card in the 90th minute for them was out of frustration and a bad temper for losing.

i was there - here's the recap as best i can

first half

hughes comes out to try and cut off a break, can't get there in time and can only deflect it - score 1 for state as all we had to do was push it in

carolina scores what seemed like 30 seconds later

second half

fusilier is the only man upfield, decides to tee off on it, and it just gets past hughes to make it 2-1 state

*Crowd goes into disbelief*

Penalty kick after foul in the box makes it 3-1 state

the frustration fouls and/or cheap shots start piling in for carolina, one guy fires a dead ball into the chest of a state player who's on the ground and gets ejected, another tarheel is ejected for apparently cussing at the referee maybe two minutes later - a vicious elbow goes uncalled...

state holds on for the last 15 or so to win 3 to fucking 1

carolina starts the 'if you can't go to college go to state' chant

i start the 'if you wanna be an asshole go to carolina' chant

man it was amazing

it was one of their 'points' events for their equivalent of the wolfpack club, the Douchenozzle Club or whatever it's called

the loudest chant they had was the last one, if you can't go to college, etc.... the rest of the game it was mostly quiet except for the scattered tar... heeee-eeeels bastardized chant

all of those bastards were standing there mouths agape

that's what i hate most about carolina fans, they think they're God's fucking gift to the world

yeah, i was there for that...it was fucking AMAZING. UNC scored with 8 sec. left off some bullshit free kick. Everyone was packing out but then with 8 SEC. left we drove quickly upfield and scored with .3 sec left.

Definitely the SICKEST thing I have ever seen in soccer at the collegiate level.

I was at the game to and it was totally insane! Of course, I swear some of their players hit harder than their football team players, granted it wasn't legal, but I was still slightly impressed. Also don't know if it was already said but they hadn't given up a goal until tonight. I think it had been 4 games to start the season without allowing a goal.
