its funny, hes wearing asu's colors under that t-shirt
9/6/2006 6:56:50 PM
...not so much
9/6/2006 8:30:00 PM
he's been fired by ASU already?
9/6/2006 8:32:28 PM
you got HERB'D!
9/6/2006 8:38:33 PM
^^ getting, since April, one of the Shipp brothers, James Harding (future McD's AA, top 25 recruit), Eric Boateng (former McD's AA, Duke scholarship player), Jamelle McMillan (followed Herb from State to ASU), Derek Glasser (top-30 PG, stolen from USC) and Taylor Rhode ('08 recruit, future "Mr. Arizona Basketball") doesn't get you fired
9/6/2006 8:45:53 PM
^its hilarious that you still follow him. tell me again how he was going to eventually take us back to the top?
9/6/2006 8:47:54 PM
that picture still makes me laffwhat exactly was he doing there?
9/6/2006 8:48:23 PM
if i were herb i wouldnt want to coach at this shitty ass school either
9/6/2006 8:54:47 PM
yeah arizona state is the harvard of the desert [Edited on September 6, 2006 at 10:08 PM. Reason : NO]
9/6/2006 10:08:40 PM
hahahahaha.i laughed
9/6/2006 10:42:55 PM
I'd be dancing too if I was in the midst of landing one of the best recruiting classes in the country as well as a McDonald's All-American center.
9/7/2006 12:23:48 AM
me too, brother
9/7/2006 1:00:26 AM
i'm sure herb will get way past the sweet 16i mean he's shown he can do it already
9/7/2006 9:31:02 AM
Where is this best recruiting class in the country you speak of?That wouldn't even be the a top 2 recruiting class in the ACC...
9/7/2006 10:04:30 AM
haha, gg
9/7/2006 10:24:15 AM
9/7/2006 10:37:27 AM
9/7/2006 10:55:29 AM
that's okay, the talent will be squandered.
9/7/2006 11:02:22 AM
Boateng will really fulfill his potential when he becomes a wing player in Sendek's offense
9/7/2006 11:04:11 AM
Herb's got a good class coming in, especially for ASU.But to say it's going to best even one of the best in the country, nah.Boateng, although highly touted in high school, looked uninspired 2-3 minutes/game.Wake, Georgia Tech, Duke, Maryland already have 2 4+ star recruits signed, and their best potential recruits yet to sign. And that's just in the ACC.I liked Herb, and GG on the recruiting class and the fish dance, but this isn't going to be one of the best recruiting classes in the nation.
9/7/2006 11:09:18 AM
9/7/2006 1:00:17 PM
the fish dance was awesomei remember being at that game and lmao
9/7/2006 1:13:12 PM
9/7/2006 3:45:11 PM
^why the hell didnt he run that at State?
9/7/2006 3:59:57 PM
The CBS Sportsline writers didn't want him to.
9/7/2006 4:02:32 PM
9/7/2006 4:05:30 PM
^^^ because the fans wanted him to run a princeton-type offense
9/7/2006 4:10:25 PM
^hahahah
9/7/2006 4:10:55 PM
^^^^^ wasn't it Larry Hunter who convinced Herb to switch to Princeton offense?
9/7/2006 4:12:56 PM
dunno
9/7/2006 4:13:21 PM
9/7/2006 4:17:35 PM
Why do you think Herb brought him in here?
9/7/2006 4:38:25 PM
because herb thought 5 consecutive tourny appearences was proof that the offense was "working"and thought the players he recruited fit the system. new place with different players = new system to fit those players I suppose
9/7/2006 4:41:33 PM
yup, ced, gavin, courtney all fit that systemplease.
9/7/2006 4:44:26 PM
9/7/2006 4:45:52 PM
ced fit in fine. herb was the only thing keeping him here. grant adapted and infact was a perfect fit. fells has yet to do shit.
9/7/2006 4:46:39 PM
fells has yet to get any significant playing timein his limited time he's shown a good outside shot and the best athleticism of any of our players in recent years
9/7/2006 4:53:07 PM
^^You prove everyday that you do not belong in sports talk.Princeton offense is for less athletic teams to limit possessions and slow the game down.Three highly athletic players with bennerman, another athletetic player and bethel should not have been artificially slowing down the game.their natural style of play did not fit the system..
9/7/2006 4:59:06 PM
9/7/2006 5:01:47 PM
your right, we don't run it anymoreHerb isn't here. But if you think we didn't run the princeton o then you are confused That was the majority offensewe did better when we had athletic players in the game who scrapped the offense and ran an upbeat offense (see wake forest games)OMG NC STATE DOESN'T RUN A WEST COAST OFFENSE BECAUSE IT HAS SLIGHT VARIATIONS WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER WEST COAS OFFENSES[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 5:06 PM. Reason : .]
9/7/2006 5:05:15 PM
so we ran the priceton offense but "had athletic players in the game who scrapped the offense and ran an upbeat offense (see wake forest games)"trying to have your cake and eat it too huh?
9/7/2006 5:08:20 PM
we ran a motion offense which was a variant of the princeton offense
9/7/2006 5:09:34 PM
^^no, because as soon as that started to happen, they were yanked (see wake forest games)
9/7/2006 5:11:54 PM
yanked in RARE occasion.
9/7/2006 5:13:09 PM
you call it rare?Herb did it all the timehe chastized Scooter sherril for abandoning the offense and would yank him.Why do you think Courtney didn't see much court time?the claim was defense but that wasn't trueIt was because he refused to not run the court.
9/7/2006 5:15:41 PM
we saw grant run up and down the court during last years duke game. he was left in.[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 5:18 PM. Reason : 234]
9/7/2006 5:17:46 PM
and during that game our offense was centered around the low blocka rare instance.
9/7/2006 5:18:31 PM
People close to the program have said that the Princeton offense was already being phased out. You could see it in the players being brought in and in certain games. With players like Grant, Simmons, and Fells (plus the incomings like Chris Wright) we no longer needed to rely on pure scheme.
9/7/2006 5:29:55 PM
herb sendek is at the suns game... please tell me someone else saw him?
