Who else uses these things? So far I have the NC Doppler, iTunes remote player, google calculator, Flickr interesting photos, WRAL local feed, and the NC State football schedule, and one of those CPU/mem usage thingsWhich ones do u use?

I have yet to find a widget that gives enough function to justify the effort and CPU/Memory overhead. All the widgets seem like unitaskers. That's my two cents anyway. It doesn't seem like anyone really taps the potental avaliable... unless you consider google desktop a widget.

the cpu overhead is nilli am using about 80MB with all the widgets i have up now...but i think I have a few to spare with 2GB or memory IF anyone wants to check them out:http://widgets.yahoo.com/

pretty much, yeah it felt less like bloated

Yeah i've been using these since Konfabulator days and it was the best option imo for windows. Samurize was unstable and stardock didn't have enough widgets.I currently use Subtle Tunes (it's for iTunes), Yahoo! Weather, Calendar, and iTunes Companion.

Having installed a pre Release Candidate of Windows Vista on my laptop (a MacBook Pro, no less), I'm liking what I'm seeing with Microsoft's Gadgets (what they're calling their widgets). The Gadgets sit in a "Sidebar", so they're much more organized than what you can do with either Konfabulator/Yahoo or even Apple's Dashboard. I like the fact that they're all in one organized place, just to the side of my screen. You can configure the Sidebar itself to hide or sit on top of all your other windows. If you use a widescreen display, it fits naturally.

I've tried allowing Yahoo Widgets on my Windows Firewall, but I still get a "Network Connection Error" everytime I try to log in to use the widgets.
