I thought the garage needed another BMW thread today. I picked up this slushbox e30 325i beater pretty cheap. Should be a good car for when I don't want to take the S2000 out of the garage. It shifts crisply with no slipping if I floor it just hard enough to not engage the kickdown cable. I think it's shifting around 5k at that point iirc.If I floor it hard enough that the kickdown cable engages it tries to shift and gets pegged to the rev limiter 90% of the time. The tranny fluid level is fine. It doesn't smell burnt or feel gritty. What gives? Could this be kickdown cable adjustment, or do you think the tranny is just on the way out?[Edited on August 31, 2006 at 6:56 PM. Reason : s]

I've got the bentley manual. I just don't have anything to accurately measure .25-.5mm. I figured I'd check here to see if a misadjusted cable could even be causing this before I buy any new tools.
